Rumor has it only 64 bit apps will run on Lion (again this is RUMOR that I saw another poster post).
That means Pixologic better hurry with that 64 bit version of ZBrush![]()
Ok so Apple basically admits that Lion is their Vista... Don't like the iOS stuff, sticking with SL.
Take your tinfoil hats off people.
iOS gaining an "install from anywhere" / "signed apps only" option is more likely than OS X forcing you to go through the app store.
well thats a big maybe to me, would apple really want to cut ties will all software developers that do not want to release their software on the app store?
Yes. They would and they will.
Sorry, everyone already called 10.5 Apple's Vista. You only get one Vista.
I tell you what.
Just finished upgrading and this Lion ROARS. It is fast as hell.
Not true at all. Apple has been releasing Vistas since 10.5. You don't just add little things and tell everyone its magical. At some point people will call you out on it and thats what happened with Lion. You can love Apple all you want but at some point you have to go, wait a second. I am hoping Mountain Lion is going to be the OS that Apple has been trying to release for the past few years.
Prima facie, this is all to do with graphics...
I'm jumping in!!
That Mountain Lion looks really angry...
Thats the issue. Snow Leopard fixed bugs, Lion added iOS features and broke things, now Mountain Lion is adding more iOS features and fixing the things Lion broke. Its a never ending cycle. The last complete good from the start OS Apple has released was Leopard. Now we have Lion working fine and are actually ready to start rolling it out to our Production team. Not going to happen now. No way I am wasting resources on updating computers every 12 months thats impossible. It takes 3-5 months to update all our computer OS's and if we are doing this every year we are going to be chasing our tails for the life of OSX.
Can anyone confirm that 32-bit apps don't work at all in Mountain Lion?
Please someone upload the default wallpaper![]()
Serious question - why are you still on a Mac then? 10.5 was a long time ago, and if every release has been even worse than Vista, why aren't you on Windows 7, which is vastly superior to Vista, and by extension, 10.7, 10.6, and 10.5?
Then your solution is start upgrading every other year, starting this year. That way, you'll get the polished bug-free version of the previous year's release.
