You can get NFL through the ATV

NBA, yes. MLB, absolutely. NHL. Sure thing. NFL. Nope. DirecTV has the exclusive streaming rights. Also Verizon has exclusive mobile rights for Red Zone. There were rumors DTV would make it available as weekly sub on ATV and other streaming boxes but has not yet done so. I think it knows way too many people subscribe to DTV because of Sunday Ticket.

They should make a deal with the cable providers to allow NFL GamePass HD in the States. Pretty much the best deal ever.

That is what DirecTV offers, but calls it NFL Sunday Ticket. They have a long term contract to offer it exclusively so it won't be on cable or online anytime soon unfortunately. Cable cos have a Red Zone channel though that shows games when teams enter the red zone.

And before you scream, "I want my customisable OS X", stop and think. You'll still get that. Just with the best iOS bits thrown in.
Uh... no.

#1. Complete deletion of Spaces/Expose. Unlike iOS devices, laptops are not really stressed for the storage capacity to hold both.

#2. Versions - there is no alternative.

For god's sake. These two things alone would cut the complaints by 75% IMO.

anybody know what the system requirements for will be? will i still be able to use this on my 2008 unibody macbook (2ghz core 2 duo) or am i out of luck?

The list pasted earlier is slightly confusing for us!

I have a late 08 MacBook Pro and I don't think mine will but saying that I don't know why.

The Intel onboard graphics have been mentioned but if mine would work just on the discrete graphics then I'd be happy with that!

I wonder if Apple will release new hardware at the same time? Remember last year they held off releasing the MacBook Air and Mac Mini until Lion was ready.

Not true at all. Apple has been releasing Vistas since 10.5. You don't just add little things and tell everyone its magical. At some point people will call you out on it and thats what happened with Lion. You can love Apple all you want but at some point you have to go, wait a second. I am hoping Mountain Lion is going to be the OS that Apple has been trying to release for the past few years.

And despite Apple releasing "Vistas" :)rolleyes:), Mac sales continue to grow at record rates and faster than the PC market.

Wow, little did I know...

Yeah, that’s one reason we’re sort of trapped on DirecTV, been a NFL (and Superfan when it became available) subscriber for ~10 year or so.

I think this coming up season though we may bail. I mainly had for my wife to follow Pittsburgh, but even she’s kind of ambivalent.

There’s an option for a network/IP based only version, but it’s only if you can show you can’t have DirecTV (visibility or something like an apartment/condo), but even if you can get it, it’s more than just the package via Sat!

We also tried the streaming option through the PS3 and the PQ was so-so, drop outs, slow switching, etc.

Apple can revoke the certificate at any time rendering the apps signed by that certificate unusable. I don't want to give that kind of power to someone else. Just imagine for example I buy some neat software from a developer for $500 but then that company gets bought out by another who decides to use the name to distribute something apple objects to. So Apple pull the certificate and the $500 software I was happily using suddenly stops functioning.

The question is not whether the app does something that Apple objects to, the question is whether the app does something that Apple's customers need protecting from. So if the company making your $500 app sells the rights to someone selling malware, tough. But then, if Apple kills their certificate, do you really want to use their software? Well, if you want, you still can. You can still launch any app if you really want to.

Yours will work with both the 9400M and the discrete 9600M, you need the Santa Rosa late 2007 MBP, which has an NVIDIA 8600M in it, or later...

I run an office full of Macs, and I can't get my head around how iCloud and office use mix well. Tighter iCloud integration makes sense for individuals, but it worries me n an office setting where people come and go, some Macs are shared by multiple people every day, etc. I don't want every Mac to have its own AppleID and iCloud account, and to have to manage 70+ separate accounts. Can Mountain Lion be easily used in an office environment with a file server, or is it going to be a fight against the OS to not use iCloud?

Also, no mention of Mountain Lion Server? Is Server going away, or is it deemed such a niche produce that it didn't make the initial press previews?

I didn't expect that

Me neither!

I have to admit though, my first thought was "oh...wait, when was lion released again?!".

My second though however was "Hmm...this looks like Apple admitting Lion was a balls-up"

I was honestly just curious why you still use Macs. If you think what's available now is Vista quality, why are you holding yourself back? Windows 7 and 8 are a lot better than Vista.

Try reading my post again. I am an Apple Infrastructure Engineer. My career is building, implementing, and integrating Apple computers into Corporate IT Infrastructures. I do more things everyday on OSX than most people do in a lifetime. I bleed Apple doesn't mean I am going to agree with them. Just because I love the United States doesn't mean I am never going to talk bad about certain policies or demand certain things. I am not a blind follower.

On that note... Mountain Lion just finished installing.

BTW: Check out the Apple Enterprise List. Lots of very very smart and respected Apple "guru's" mirror my thoughts exactly. Sitting at home playing WOW on your Mac is a lot different than putting multibillion dollar productions out everyday on a Mac with hundreds of servers and 10's of thousands of clients.

Must be nice! Mine goes from 5 minutes left back to 15. People must be slamming the servers.

What are you smoking? Everything Apple has released since 10.6 has been great. I'm new to OSX and only been using it for a year and a half and supporting it for longer but it's the best OS I have ever used. I've been a Windows guy my entire life and let me tell you, MS has had many duds.

If ANY OS is a dud from Apple, it would have been the latest 10.7 update release a few days back. It broke a lot of **** and people were pissed but that's ok. There are growing pains.

If Apple did come out with a hunk of ****, people would complain and not use it. Just like Vista, ME, 95. So on so forth. Apple is really good about giving a great experience. Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion are no exceptions.

You might want to rethink your comments.
