It can't be worse than iOS 18, right? 😆

Oh, it's a hot mess. I left iOS 18's public beta running on my phone (granted, I sent a ton of feedback, but I left it on there). As much as I like to kick the tires and help by sending feedback, iOS 26 just got kicked to the curb (my iOS 18.6 restore is wrapping up now).

i really want to, but i remember when i did the PB for ios 18 and i wouldn't receive calls and couldn't hang up calls unless i spammed the lock button which would then turn on sos mode... and it did that until RC
i literally remember being upset every day and swearing to never do a beta ever again. I'LL BE PATIENT

installed the PB on my M2 iPad Air, I had previously turned "reduce transparency" and "increase contrast" turned on, so I turned those off to see what it looks like. I've only played with it for like 45 min but I will say thus far that all the (negative) comments about liquid glass are exaggerated and I find it quite readable.
That's just my personal initial impression.

The only feature I really care is Visited Places. Can anyone please confirm its availability (ideally from Canada)?
I installed on my iPad mini(previous generation) and see no changes.
Installed. All good.
Found two bugs with CarPlay on my RAM 1500 (12'').

Somebody help me out here. In Safari on tab view the menu has an option, “Copy 32 Links.” Yes - I have 32 tabs open and copy and pasting in Notes lists links to all 32 pages that are open.

Was this an option in iOS 18? When and why would someone use this?

Trying to get this on my iPad to play around with it.

Using a new iPad Air. Started the update saying 8 hours. Then changed shortly after and steadily at 2hours. Whaaaat?!

iPad Developer Beta 4 is quirky as all get out, but functionally stable so far. Been running all day and the only thing I noticed is that one website keeps getting logged out. Music playback isn’t even stuttering, which has been a problem on mainline MacOS for me lately.
My iPad keeps crashing, can't open apps, just touching the screen causes it to crash. UGH

Initial thoughts. Slow. Very very slow. This is on an iPhone 16 Pro.

The initial restart and welcome didn’t work. I had to shutdown and reboot, before I was able to sign on.

Did I say it’s very very slow? CarPlay widgets are awesome though!!! (but it’s slow)

Interface takes a bit of adjustment. Not sure what I think of it….

ETA....it amuses me with those that disagree. I'm not lying! My phone was barely usable as it was so slow! (It has since improved btw)

Just downloaded and installed on iPad Air 5. So far it is incredibly smooth and polished. Some apps that were problematic multitasking in 18.x are sooo much better now. One in particular, the MASN sports app that gives us access to Orioles and Nationals games in the mid-Atlantic would not multi-task in 18. No side by side. Going back and forth to the app always kicked in a 30 second start up commercial. Now it just stays in its window and keeps playing unless another window starts another video. But when you go back to the baseball game it instantly resumes play. This is priceless. Apparently apps do not have to be coded to multitask. The OS now controls the flow. This is huge. Everything is buttery smooth so far. No apps have failed.

Question that’s probably been answered a million times. If you update to the beta, is doing a complete restore the only way to roll back to iOS 18? Secondly, if you decide to stay on the beta until official release, can you update to the official iOS 26 without restoring?

Yes, you can update to official 26 when it’s released without restoring; and to go back to 18 you’ll have to install an older image (backup) which you will have saved. Or start from scratch.

Installed the second beta 4 developer and the mysynchrony bank app still won’t load. Sent feedback. Everything else working as expected.

I think you would rather need to send feedback to the banking app developers and those guys might not be able to push a working update until iOS 26 is out in September. Meantime, you can use it via your browser.

I’ve owned 8 generations of iPhone. I’ve participated in public betas since Apple offered them. I don’t ever recall my phone running this slow with an upgrade. All on the most powerful iPhone ever…it was an observation on my part that has amusingly and predictably ruffled some feathers.
