Um, it's the first Beta. I don't care how stable it seems to be to start off with, I think it's insane to load it if you are going to be away for 2 weeks...

I've had good and bad experiences, I would like to put it on today or tomorrow, use it a couple days, then decide if I want to keep it for my trip or not.

I fix computers for a living...I *know* when a computer has a virus

I don't download stupid stuff, I don't click links that are so obviously malicious.

I'm aware of that, I do a monthly spyware/antivirus scan online and I've never had anything come up.

People are too freaked out about viruses and they don't use common sense online. Click here for a $50000 gift card? No Thanks

Why not just get the free version of AVG or something  do online scans even work, I've had those things popping up on my mac lol showing a "my computer" lol saying its got a million viruses lol stupid ad to catch stupid people

Multitasking on iPad ftw :apple:

AVG is the most garbage AV, hogs up memory/CPU cycles, I really don't see a need at all.

Anyways, enough of viruses, let's celebrate 4.2!

So you do use anti-virus?

It's not installed on my PC, I just do a free scan online and nothing has ever showed up. Been months since I've done it....

Heh yeah Norton is worse...I despise it personally. If you don't scan your immortal Mac then how do you know it doesn't have a keylogger? Mac's aren't immune to everything as 99% of people who own them would believe.

Wish I had a developer account :(

It's not just obviously malicious website that can have viruses, perfectly legit websites can be hacked and become host to drive-by attacks, infecting users before they can be taken off. I know, it's happened to my websites before :(

But this threads getting off topic...

I'm downloading it now, but I'm not sure I want to be the first guinea pig... anyone else tried it yet or is it still too soon? :p

Correct.

This is why ad-blocking is now completely justifiable.

One should have no qualms about blocking ads in 2010.
