Apple Releases First iOS 4.2 Beta for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch

I forgot I hadn't registered my iPad as a development device, and I died a little inside when iTunes said it couldn't activate it. That was scary.

Also a little big brother, in not a fan of all this registration stuff.

AirPlay is working, I've seen screenshots of people sending output to their Airport Expresses.

As for printing, you'll need to have 10.6.5 installed apparently. That's what it says on the main page.

You're right. But I've never, ever, scanned a PC without at least one instance of spyware. Ever.
 
My iPad update just fine to 4.2. However my iPhone 4 failed to upgrade... In fact it killed it.. I had to restore.. First I tried to restore to 4.2 and that failed too I'm now restoring back to 4.1!! Anyone had this???

Stupid question but did you add your iphone 4's UDID to your developer's account?

How is AirPrint different from Printer Sharing?

I'm not understanding why the OS X update is needed for AirPrint. It sounds like the AirPrint-enabled printer must be connected to a Mac with 10.6.5 (either through a physical USB cable or through AirPort). So I'm not clear how AirPrint is different than good old Printer Sharing. What part of the picture am I missing?

Update: I read a clearer description on another site. Sounds like AirPrint can print directly to certain standalone HP printers and also to printers connected to Macs with Printer Sharing. I think the 10.6.5 update is needed to update Printer Sharing (and Bonjour?) to handle AirPrint from iDevices.

I'd guess its a Bonjour update

Probably a driver issue.

Same thing happened to me! Error 10. I am trying now through Xcode to see if that works.
 
Yup all my iPhones are registered in the portal... I have my test applications on all of them so I know it works..
 
iOS 4.2 and iphone 4 PROBLEM

My iPhone's UDID is registered, but when I try to restore the phone to the 4.2 beta it fails and I have to restore the phone to 4.1.

How many people are experiencing this?

Has anyone with an iphone 4 installed iOS 4.2 beta successfully?

I get this too!
I can't install 4.2 on my iPhone 4 :S
My UDID is also registered..
 
If anyone wants to test out my iPad apps with 4.2 multitasking capability PM me and I can add your device so my app can be beta tested 😀 please don't pay someone thats retarded 😎:apple:
