I've had it try to update now 3 times. It goes to reboot and it looks like it's updating, then it just comes back and I log in and it says the Mac crashed. And the update wants to download all over again. It's not updating my 16" Macbook Pro to the latest public beta.

Actually 11.0.1 is now available as a full installer. Downloading now and will make a bootable usb.

There seems to be a pattern as to when apple release the full installers (at least for the later ones - obviously not the first few). They seem to be waiting for when public beta is available before making the full installer available - even to developers.
Please could you share where it 11.0.1 is available as a full installer, thanks

Have they fixed AD, CiscoAny Connect and Kerberos? As for Enterprise use these area must and have been broke on and off since B8.
I can't speak for AD or Kerberos, but Cisco AnyConnect requires the new version 4.9 client, which has been available for a bit, as it uses the new network extension framework rather than the old kernel extension one. Your Cisco VPN admin will need to obtain the client from Cisco to provide it to you as Cisco does not make it available directly.

You can get it in the software update preference pane - provided you have an older system, i.e., big sur beta 10 or earlier or catalina, mojave etc.

Press the button "Upgrade Now" or something similar and the full 11.0.1 beta installer downloads.

Maybe Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur is designed to run so poorly on intel platform people will want to buy ARM desktops to get some modicum of performance back.
Upgraded from El Capitan to Mojave and the performance is horrible on a quad core i7 w fusion drive mbp.
No Macbook Pro has a Fusion drive. If you're going to talk about alfoil hat conspiracy theories, at least mix in some facts.

Imac 2017; Just did clean install on an external SSD, connected by Thunderbolt 3;

Unable to login into my wifi network attached is a screen shot of the error.

Installed 11.0.1 on my late 2013 Mac Pro (cylindrical), upgrade from 10.15.7. I felt it may be good enough to test now on a non-critical machine. 'Seemed to install well and fast enough. On start up the Finder did not launch even though the new desktop background was there. My hidden dock was there but only System Prefs and Apple Feedback launched. No other programs would launch. I did the usual string of things to maybe get it to work, no Joy. I tried to open a window on the Feedback Program to tell Apple, program froze. I have a mundane computer, nothing special other than Photoshop and QuarkExpress.

Thoughts?

I'm still getting, "An Error Occurred. Try Again" message in the, Listen Now section of Apple Music. Is this working/broken for anyone else?

Upgraded last night, 2020 iMac. All of the apps I've tried today seem stable, with the odd 3rd party app minor formatting issue (like serif font on a button) undoubtably caused by customizations thrown off by the major UI shifts. I also am not consistently seeing the eject button next to SD Cards/iPhones on the Finder list – feedback just submitted. Right click to eject works a-okay.

When is Big Sur finally going to be released? I don’t think it’s ever taken Apple this long to release an updated OS. Is it because BS (😆) is very buggy?

You must be young.

Classic Mac System 7.1 came out in October 1992. The next major release was 7.5 in September 1994. (In between was System 7.1.2, a minor update to support the first Macs with PowerPC CPUs.)

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger came out in April 2005. Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard came out in October 2007. (With a minor upgrade in February of 2006 to version 10.4.5 for Intel CPUs.)

CPU changes aren't easy.

I ain't falling for it this time .... I'm staying camped on Catalina until MacOS12 launches

(downloading 11.0.1 now)

Always makes me laugh a little when they start sending out builds for the next minor release before the main release is out.

I mean as a programmer I completely understand....as a consumer though it makes me laugh
I worked for a company that skipped .0 releases because customers wouldn’t upgrade to a big version change that didn’t have at least one patch.

I will add that Cisco has been releasing updates for 4.9.xxxx for Big Sur. The latest version of 4.9 looks to fix some of the initial bugs, but I would guess that until we have a final release of Big Sur there might still be bugs with Anyconnect.

This beta works really better than all the previous I tried. I just encountered one crash when it was barely usable before. I don't encounter freezes at all. I'm happy with it for the moment.

I think I'm gonna sit this initial release out ... maybe pick it up spring 2021 ... if I'm feeling ambitious
