Battery life has been ok so far.
Battery life will vary based on apps used etc. For me, battery life has been the same as iOS 11.4.

FWIW - I ran DB1 and now DB2. It's fast. Since DB2 ( = PB1?) everything *I* use works fine. But it definitely burns the battery more than 10 or 11, which is not a surprise for a beta.

Yes, DB2 doesn't "pulverize" the battery but runtime is definitely shorter.

Thanks all. Doesn't seem to affect battery life noticeably on my iPhone 6 Plus. I'll probably download it to my iPhone X soon.

Yeah, everything is very fast for me on my X. The 2 major issues of note for me, is GPS is very inaccurate, and I seem to be getting a little more battery drain. But, yeah, this device is smoother and faster than ever.
I wonder if gps of the battery drain is because of the gps issue

Super smooth so far on iPad 2 Mini and iPad Pro, haven't been able to gauge battery life because I've done nothing but use it since.

Made my iPad Mini 2 actually usable again. I'm so so tempted to install on my iPhone X but rely too heavily on GPS day to day to risk it based on the reviews here so far.

Anyone else have this issue?

All my 3rd party keyboards were removed and I don’t see a way to re add them.

My horizontal GPS accuracy is 5.0 meters/16.4 ft.

On an iPhone X?
If yes, this should be 3-4 meters outdoors when not moving...
I also sometimes get t meters... but on the highway, it jumps a lot... I rarely get better than 17 meters when moving... and sometimes it doesn’t even lock. Rebooting my device will temporarily fix the problem...

Let me know if Waze works via CarPlay as advertised. It’s one of the few features I’m actually interested in.
It doesn't work yet, no. Not sure if this is because Apple hasn't turned on that function yet or if Waze hasn't implemented the change yet. Tried on a 2019 RDX.

Did anyone download the public beta to try out Google Maps or Waze in CarPlay? If so, can you please share your experience, I'd appreciate it!
Not working yet. Tested on a 2019 Acura RDX

The Waze app isn’t updated yet, I’m sure they’ll make an announcement when it’s ready though.

Thank you for sharing that. Guess I might just wait for the official release.

the fact that there is no way to stop it from vibrating after opening it is enough to drive you crazy enough to switch to a different brand. it needs a removal option IMMEDIATELY!!!

You will never get better than a few meters utilizing civilian GPS systems.

Nope, doesn't work on my 2016 Chevy Volt either... yet.

Rest assured that ininderstand how GPS is supposed to work...
The issue here is that the iPhone X is hardly able to get a stable GPS lock... and when it does, it’s not as accurate as before... it’s less accurate compared to my iPhone 6 or 6s running iOS 12 .

My X is still just as accurate as it was and the battery life is still doing great, this has been one of the better beta releases I've seen of iOS.

GSM or CDMA version?
If you got it unlocked (full price) or got it from Verizon, you’ve got a Qualcomm modem... which apparently is not affected with the gps problem

Mine's a GSM version from AT&T, model A1865.

5m horizontal/ 3m vertical

5m is not “normal” for the iPhone X... it should be 3-4 meters when not moving and clear view of the sky.
I sometimes get 5m also... but when I start moving, it’s a lot worst... 17m or worst.... and sometimes it loses the GPS signal altogether and it’s able to get the location only from cell/WiFi until I reboot my device.
It was completely fine before iOS 12 beta...
And I tried configure as new... same problem.

It's fine for a civilian device, I typically know where I am going in advance to the point I don't really have to rely on GPS, maybe that's a military conditioning thing. If I do have to use it, it has still been right on the money with location since downloading iOS12.

If you are seeing abnormal behavior, I would definitely submit a feedback message and hope it get's addressed with the next beta update. Remember though, it is a beta and bound to have some flaws, which we all acknowledge by accepting the terms of the beta software install. If I saw a major flaw I would do the same.

I don't understand why people jump into the beta program and start griping about flaws, find it, reference it for the engineers to check, and move on.

Yes 5 meters is completely fine... I wouldn’t complain if it was stable at 5 meters... but it’s not...
When it gets a signal, it’s not even stable in the city... it jumps a lot and it makes the GPS unusable.

That said, I’ve reported this problem through the feedback app and provided enough details for the engineers to understand what is going on.

It’s a known problem, you’ll have to wait for a future beta for a fix.

Just realized I can take a call and my music continues to play when streaming to my Apple TV. So cool!
