Hoo yes it is just like mojave, leave something for pro as well, an year dedicated to polishing an bug fixing was exactly what Apple needed, now it's time to release some new beefy mac hardware and there will be very little to complain. Sorry for the folks hoping for some gimmick to show off to their friends, probably next year.

The "moji" stuff is still in there and the personalized ones. BTW.... serious question, does anyone use the Animoji stuff regularly? I never touch it. Honestly just wondering.

Really keen on trying out Google Maps/Waze on Carplay. Wonder when Google is going to update the apps.

I am not familiar with the Carplay APIs and what changed, but Apple is not approving any apps using the new frameworks until after iOS12 is released.

So, unless you get on a TestFlight to try beta software from Google (if one even exists for the public), it will not be ready to use until at least this September. But, Who knows when it's in Google's pipeline to complete the app updates - could be later than that.

A few issues with CarPlay, but not breaking:

  • When put into reverse, the audio gets kicked off (it does not seem like the whole CarPlay but just audio? Not sure on this)
  • I had a single graphical glitch where there was something overlaid over something else on the screen once as directions were showing up; could not take a screen shot as I was driving by myself

Otherwise, it just works. VZW iPhone X w. 2017 Accord EX.

Strange. I've enrolled but don't have access yet. Maybe it hasn't been dropped in the UK yet.

From another thread I posted today.
Is 43% to 2% battery life reasonable via ios12 pb1.
Only asking as iPhone 8 was only feeding Apple Watch some music in gym-to AirPods.
Seems rather noticeable decline in power.
I'm re charging wirelessly to 100% and shall re check.
Thanks Weasleboy for moderating and re directing my post to correct ios12 thread.

My girlfriend use them sometimes...I've used them to reply her first few times, never used them since, I'm not Mr. sober so I don't mind if someone use them but I just listen the audio to be fair...

Just to confirm, Google Maps and Waze doesn't need an update? It just works fine in Carplay within iOS 12 public beta?
Nope,

Got it.

Installed it on my iPad mini 2 and saw very little speed improvements. It's still slow. Hopefully this will be much, much improved on release.

Installed on my only iPhone X - no issues here. Feels so much faster and I like the group notification look. Can not waiiiit for watchOS though! Really wish they would release a beta to public.

I don't imagine I'll use the measure app much. The Memoji is hilarious but need better beard option...

I may try it on my aged iPhone 6 Plus tonight. I'm afraid to download it on my iPhone X for one reason: That it will pulverize battery life. In my experience, betas often tend to suck more juice out of my phones, and frankly, so do the final releases of the next versions.
Battery life has been ok so far.

Not sure if this has been answered already but has anyone tested this Public Beta or Dev Beta 2 with CarPlay? I downgraded from Dev Beta 1 since CarPlay in my car wasn't able to recognize my iPhoneX.

Those of you who installed the iOS12 Public Beta have you noticed any major app incompatibilities...crashing...etc?

Yeah, I don't want to seem like I'm just "no fun" but they don't have a long lasting charm for me. Maybe kids? That's fair I guess. I just don't see them in use much.

Waze is working on my cellular 10.5 iPad Pro. GPS seems to be fine, I’ve not yet risked imstalling iOS 12 on my iPhones X yet...

He means on CarPlay, this is why everyone keeps asking this question and taking the quote out of context. Yes Waze itself works, no it does not display on CarPlay...until September.

My system is taking 12 GB!!!

I have a 16 GB iPhone 6, Hope it improves with time!

But so far I had zero bugs or crashes! iOS 12 breeds new life into the phone!

It's SO much faster!
