Thank God we've dropped saying "snappier" in favor of "don't seem as laggy."9.1 beta definitely feels like an improvement on 6 Plus...things don't seem as laggy.
Hmmmm......might hold off slapping it on my 6 in case there's problems restoring from backup when the 6S Plus arrives. You'd need to install 9.1 on the phone if you'd want to restore from a backup that was made from 9.1.
It feels snappier.Thank God we've dropped saying "snappier" in favor of "don't seem as laggy."
It's sad. I really want to install it now but I have to wait until I come home. Why Apple decide for me that I can't download it using LTE?You can download the developer beta if you are a developer and install it that way, but public betas are done OTA.
Actually you'll still receive the annoying notifications and you won't be able to update anymore.Yes - just delete the Beta profile to stop receiving beta updates.
Anyone install on a 6 plus and/or iPad mini 2? want to know if its smooth.
Same on my iPhone 6. First minutes the touchscreen acted crazy (not responding, responding with a huge lag, and so on). After that? Smooth as silk. Great update. Nothing new, besides Emoji, but great performance improvements. Especially Continuity now displays the icon all the time on the iDevices and or Mac.My air 2 was practically unusable for the first 10 min after the update. Working perfectly afterward, obviously a bunch of background things going on there for a while.
They have to be released by third party developers. If you want to write one, here's a simple tutorial.

How come "news" is not available to me on iPad Air 2, but it is on iPhone 5?
Can you please confirm if WhatsApp works or not on iOS 9.1 PB?
Thanks Donovan...I thought that since it was a GM it would've been available to everyone.I'm running WatchOS2 GM now.
It is not available OTA -- needs to be downloaded from the Apple Developer portal: https://developer.apple.com/watchos/download/
Following yesterday's big media event, Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 9.1 to developers, and now the company
Would you mind sharing how to do it?I don't have a dev account and I installed watchOS 2 GM last night.
No. It requires the new M9 chip in the 6S and 6S Plus.
Appreciate the info. Hope they will make 9.1 available on the release date. The difference in battery life between the iOS 9 PBs and 9.1 is remarkable on my Air 2, based on about 12 hours' experience (so, very early data). PB1 and PB3 ran almost half as long as 8.x. (PB2 was a disaster on my Air 2.) iOS 9.1 PB1 seems to be running maybe 30% longer than 8.x. If that holds up over the next week, that would be fantastic.
I haven't had any performance problems since installing 9.1 PB1, either. Performance seems to be at least as good as 8.x and 9.0 PBs. One noticeable improvement is that the touchscreen seemed somewhat unresponsive with iOS 9.0. That has been fixed in 9.1 PB1.
