Anyone having the issue on IpadOS where safari does not route you to the desktop site? Tried docs.google.com and it sent me right to the app? Reported it through the feedback app, was just curious if anyone else experienced the same.

Update after a day of usage. No bugs to report other than some very minor glitches in the animation surrounding Quick Access. Other than, battery life is still excellent on my XR, and love all of the new features. Dark mode is so nice to have, and looks great, even on this LCD display. Really like the changes in photos.

I also found that you can basically peek and pop into hyperlinks etc. I’m pumped Apple brought the 3D Touch shortcuts to all iOS/iPadOS devices.

Hmm, not gone well here :(
Installed, it seemed, now stuck on the black boot screen with Apple logo.
Time to see if Recovery Mode works I think.....

As per earlier suggestion, tried the update again and then left it.
stuck at the same place and eventually ran out of charge.

All comments below are purely observations and not whinging. I am fully aware this is early beta :)

As it stood I had the IOS12 beta profile also installed along with 12.4, so thought that might be the issue.
I am using a 3rd Gen iPad Pro 12.9.
Eventually got IpadOS installed thus:
Reset via iTunes back to 12.3. Then installed IOS13 profile. The new iPadOS then installed successfully.
As I had none of my apps or data, I then reset the device again and recovered an earlier IOS 12.4 backup into iPadOS.
This seems to be all working and functional from a general perspective.
No major issue so far.
Only thing doesn't seem to work/be ready that I wanted, is the ability to import photos from an SD Card directly to Lightroom.
The new Files app sees the SD Card when opened on its own, but if I select the Files app from within LR it no longer sees the SD Card.
Not sure whether this will rely on an Adobe update or I haven't done it right?
Like the home page widget screen. For me, more useful than keep having to swipe over to see them.
Multitasking looking good, just need to remember the various new options!

I had the developer beta, but it installed fine on my 9.7" iPad Pro a few weeks ago. People are reporting that if you have a huge photo library, that it can take a long time for iOS to boot, but I would say 3 hours is way too long.

I would put it in recovery mode and either go back to iOS 12 (if you have a backup) or if you want to try iPadOS again, do that. It has installed on countless other iPads, as you can see by people reporting in the forums, so you probably had a glitch during install.

Good-luck, and sorry this happened. Apple should not have released this to the public as this is more like an "alpha build" vs. a beta build.

:apple:
Thanks for the response. I have attempted it a couple of times. No issues restoring 12 back. It's interesting though when i have it hooked up to iTunes, my iPad does show up and it shows 13 but the iPad screen just has the Apple logo on it. Oh well.

I’ve found iPad OS on my iPad Mini 4 to be a little bit buggy. A few resprings and I’ve been logging bugs. Most of the experience has been good. Again, with anything Beta, don’t rely on it as your main device. The iPad Mini 4 is obviously the bottom end of the food chain for iOS devices being that it hasn’t got the grunt of the iPad Mini 5, nor the camera spec of the Pro range, so the limited feature spec I can expect for this device is more a baseline - people with newer and better specced machines will see more wobbles in the earlier betas.

Oh, the peek and pop which was never available on this iPad before is great and the hyperlink stuff, just wow!

Any word on what devices will be dropped from iOS 13? We have a 6s and an SE in the family and would be thrilled to get at least another year out of them. If not, we will likely replace with some used XR's, just not feeling the expenses.

The closest I got to the answer is the article below but it doesn't solidify the devices in question. Five years is a long run but the performance we still see from these phones has me reluctant to dumping them.

Having issues with wireless carplay. Waze map was very large with this version, so I deleted and started over. I am paired to wifi and Bluetooth, but doesn’t work wirelessly. Only connects if connected to USB. Anyone having issues?

Update - not sure how, but it fixed itself.

Another thing I noticed was that Siri, when accessed through double tapping on AirPods, she won’t be able to “Play 90s music radio” when I told her too. Definitely a glitch but not the end of the world. I like finding things and hopefully they will improve it. My battery life, was amazing today. Just like normal. I used it for 5h4m. Screen off was 3h 4m. Pretty average for me. It got me thru the day so whatevs. Can’t wit for the improvements. It’s all good. Let me know if my one having similar issues. Overall I like all the cool stuff. But got see I’m sure we are hearing more. I love it. Can’t wait for

Apple today released the first public betas of iOS 13 and iPadOS to its public beta testing group, giving non-developers a chance to test out the software ahead of its upcoming fall release.

The first public beta of iOS 13 corresponds to the second developer beta released last week. Apple originally said that the public beta would be coming in July, but has apparently decided to release it a few days early. Apple's public beta testing website is still down, so public beta testers will not be able to install the software until it's up.

Beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program will receive the iOS 13 beta update over-the-air after installing the proper certificate on an iOS device.

Those who want to join the beta testing program can sign up on Apple's beta testing website, which gives users access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas. Before installing a beta, make sure to create a full encrypted iTunes backup or an iCloud backup. It's best to install iOS 13 on a secondary device because beta software is not always stable and can include bugs.

iOS 13 is a major update to the iOS operating system that runs on the iPhone and the iPad, but this year, iOS 13 and iPadOS, the version of iOS 13 that runs on the iPad, are separate downloads as they've been split up.

iPadOS is identical to iOS 13 in almost every way, though there are some iPad-specific features such as new multitasking capabilities. For the most part, the two operating systems share the same features.

iOS 13 introduces a long list of new features. Dark Mode changes the entire look of the operating system, shifting it from light to dark, while an overhauled Photos app makes it easier to relive your memories with new Days, Months, and Years viewing options.

There's a new photo editing interface that makes it easier to edit photos than ever before, plus there are new tools to work with and options to edit the intensity of the built-in filters.

You can edit video right in the Photos app for the first time, and on the newest iPhones, there's a new High-Key Mono lighting effect and an option to adjust the intensity of Portrait Lightning effects.

There's a less obtrusive volume HUD, a new Find My app that combines Find My iPhone and Find My Friends and lets you track your devices even with they don't have an LTE or WiFi connection.

A Sign In with Apple feature (not yet active) gives you a convenient and data safe way to sign into apps and websites, providing an alternative to Facebook and Google sign in options.

Maps has a new street-level "Look Around" mode and a Collections feature for making lists of places, Reminders has been entirely overhauled to make it more functional, there's a profile feature in Messages along with new Memoji and Animoji stickers, and Siri has a new voice.

There are a ton of additional new features and changes coming in iOS 13, and for a full rundown of what you can expect, you should check out our iOS 13 roundup.

[doublepost=1561528693][/doublepost]installed the beta iOS 13 iPad pro, hanging during first boot. forever, complete restore. did its again, worked very fine.
Store from cloud backup over night. this morning same lock as first attempt..
to da i try it again, without restore the backup try to work a while and with the next release, i try the restore from backup again..

Just downloading on my 11 inch pro...my main iPad is the 12.9 so will leave that as it is. Looking forward to trying it out.

Since Apple began the Public Beta program I’ve enjoyed installing them and checking out all the new features. However, after installing iPadOS 13 on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, I was very afraid that I’d made a very bad mistake. There were so many things that just did not work, I had no control over my documents in Pages or photographs in Photos. Everywhere I looked or checked things were totally screwed up. I thought about going back to IOS 12, but was afraid that doing so with things as screwed up as they were that this would not work either, and would really mess things up.

I decided to try to power down and when I powered back up everything was as it should be. I’m enjoying checking out the new features. I didn’t think I would like Dark Mode, but it is neater than I thought it would be. I’m trying to get used to the new gestures, and so far I think they can be quite useful once learned. I haven’t checked out using a mouse yet, as I have to find and charge my Magic Mouse.

Hope we eventually get a progress indicator when copying / pasting files to drives etc.

One thing that I just noticed copying 3gb I downloaded from my downloads folder to my USB-C stick. I cant see how it’s progressing

Update - progress ring appeared, was just slow appearing. Guess will be improved in due course

I have this issue - it gets stuck at verification and refuses to install. I've tried restarting, nothing working.
My fix was to remove a large chunk of photos to free up space. Worked just fine after that.

UPDATE: Seems like a good USB to Lightning cable makes all the difference. Phone restored.

ORIGINAL: Whoops, bricked my iPhone XR. Nothing will restore it.

Installed on iPhone SE 64GB, most things seem to work smoothly for the first 20 minutes so far. Will return with updates...

Update: It's been just about two days since I've installed the beta. I've reported about 4 minor bugs that regard appearance. Nothing so far has hindered me from using my phone normally except the battery life is significantly (in my opinion) worse than 12.2.

I upgraded to 12.3.1 in order to have something to downgrade back to in the event that iOS 13 public beta would bring issues so, I only had about a few hours of use with 12.3.1, and no reports on battery there.

Overall, great update with dark mode and other cosmetic touches (bye-bye giant volume HUD!!)

(ignore the original post being edited cause I wrote on that one instead of adding a new post first, whoops.)
