Anyone have the beta on iPhone 13 Pro? I'm tempted but wondering if it's worth it. Standby seems like one of those always-on features but I read that it will work on the 13. I'm curious if the live widgets will work as well. I always remember the premium new iOS features often don't work on phones older than 2 years.

I want to install PB on my iPad but am concerning interoperability issue with iOS/iPad OS 16.x. Is there known issues? I have an iPhone(iOS 16), my wife has an iPhone(iOS 16) and iPad(iOS 16) and Mac(Ventura), all devices sync iCloud and family sharing.

This year I am holding off my temptations for beta upgrade because I had problems with a bank, HSBC, which does not support any major beta (point version betas are ok) so anyone needing HSBC hold your horses. I only updated my ipad.
HSBC app has worked since the first iOS17 developer beta.

I'm curious, though... does Apple collect data from my iPhone without me sending in feedback reports? Like will they see my iPhone 11 Pro is burning through battery or apps are having issues?
Yes, device analytics are absolutely gathered and processed during the betas even if you do not submitting bug reports.

Tokyo,Kyoto,Hiroshima and Osaka in that order.
Super excited!
Have you been before? My wife is from Osaka, so we go every year. Been to all those places other than Hiroshima. Well I guess I took the bullet train through there but didn't stop there haha. Hope you have a great trip.

For me the biggest annoyance on my iPhone 14 Pro is related to messages and safari. On safari when you perform a keyword seach on a website, the dialogue box doesn’t properly show up to show all the instances of that word on the site. On messages there’s a bug with composing messages, where the text will be under the keyboard and it doesn’t let you scroll to see it without first closing the keyboard and reopening it. Other than that it’s been pretty smooth.

So I installed the beta for the first time in my life. Lmao. Took me a second to consider it though, lol. Anyway, all the apps run sooo smoothly. I love the new features. The changes are not earthshakingly shocking but it’s definitely more sophisticated and well thought out imo. Great job Apple. Hope it goes well for y’all too.
Congrats! I have been a Beta subscriber as long as it's been offered. I've never been burned; however I am Apple all the way with my software (Probably 90+% of my software is Apple - I was a Creative for Apple before they ruined that position)...

Don't do it unless you are ok with your iPhone having less than 85% of it's original battery capacity. Betas kill battery health.
With all due respect, Thats a complete load of BS. Been doing betas for years and never had a battery health problem. I got my 14 pro in December, did all the 16 betas and now all the 17 betas so far. I still have 100% battery health, max capacity.

oh ok. but moving forward I will be able to get next public beta and eventually the ios 17 full release in september? also im curious what this public beta build number is?
Look you can go into software update section and select the option you want. I would recommend the normal release build until you do a little research regarding this topic. However, you can simply select public beta instead of developer and it will automatically get the public updates not dev. As already mentioned the builds are the same just dev comes out first in case there are issues folks like yourself may not be able to address or work around. Basically let your switch setting handle updates for you. Oh and the About section shows what build you have.

Anyone know what the magnetic charging stand is they show in all the standby promos?

I normally do the Betas but due to a possible serious health issue with my wife I can not risk it this year. Will be watching the Betas to see how it goes for sure. Need something to distract me from reality.

No so yeah I can’t wait. Oh that’s cool, and thanks.!

I’ve been on the dev beta 1 and 2 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Battery life was OK, however I had many small issues with various apps, for instance in Safari there were some white vs off-white shading issues around icons, the keyboard would be overlayed in Telegram, etc. Ultimately it was not worth it and I downgraded to iOS 16. I’ve sworn to never install betas many years ago but always get tempted only to be sorry later. Apple are so pathetic with their software quality that it’s worth it to wait at least 2-3 minor versions before going for the major version. I’ll update to iOS 17 the moment it’s officially released but I bet with myself I’m gonna be sorry.

BTW, zooming in PDF docs opened in Safari was broken in iOS 11 and never got fixed since. And I’ve reported it multiple times to Apple.

Don't lie about respect. You may have an usual case but there are numerous, not isolated, but numerous accounts of users on this beta, as well as past iOS betas suffering hot phones, battery drain, and ultimately battery health loss due to the beta. It is taxing on the device and takes it toll on batteries. There are many comments and threads here about this issue. Anyone who wants to run the betas should, but should be aware of this potential and likely side effect.

Really???! That’s a massive change from previous years - where it didn’t work until the week before GA.

I wonder if the HSBC Business app works too
Honestly im yet o find any report of any app broken in iOS17. It’s probably due to the fact that, all things considered is not that big of an update. Not complaining though, it’s the quality update we needed
