Anybody having issues with Lightroom CC on this Beta? I know the Creative Cloud app had some issues, but any info about Lightroom CC?

I have several contact where I have multiple numbers in same contact. As it is now I can’t decide from time to time which number I want to send to. I can and decide which number but it happen to be the number you last had a conversation with.

Anyone have issues leaving their iPhone on iOS 12, but updating iPad to 13? Not sure if it causes cloud sync issues or other problems?

Yes, this is my current set up. I have iOS 12 on my iPhone Xs Max and iOS 13 (Beta #4) on my iPad Pro (11inch).

No issues that I am aware of syncing or managing data across my various devices. I did not upgrade Reminders and don't plan to do so until also my devices are on iOS 13.

I also have Catalina on a MacBook Air but not on my iMac. Again, no problems with data/syncing.

I will just warn you public beta testers of some issues I read about in the DP5 thread. CarPlay appears to mess up on certain cars, and at random times. FaceTime Audio calls do not work when you initiate them, however, they will come in if you are called by someone using FaceTime Audio. External drive support on iPadOS is not working near as great as it did in DP3 & DP4. I also read about people not getting great LTE signal with Verizon and Sprint (both CDMA carriers) as it will cut out and the only way to get the signal back is to restart, or I guess occasionally putting your phone on Airplane Mode and then off will fix it sometimes. People have reported that battery life is worse with this build. That is all I can think of right now, but I used the MacRumors thread(s) and some threads on Apples website.

This might be one to skip, if you are using this on your daily driver.

Despite what I just typed, I have not experienced any of these issues on DP5, however, I cannot comment on CarPlay as my Alpine deck does not support it.

Just be careful everyone, and REPORT the bugs you come across if you really want this to be a great release!

CarPlay was messing up on my car with the beta 3. I could receive texts, Siri could read them but when dictating a reply Siri would replay what I said but not send. Other than that issue, CarPlay world fine. Hopefully this version will fox that issue for me.

I don’t think that is right. There is a Recents album and then there is the separate Photos tab. They don’t contain the same pictures for me?

I'm still on iOS 12 and not seeing this behavior. I just took a photo and added it to album. That photo still appears on the Photos tab, and in the 'All Photos' album on the Albums tab. Am I missing something?

So maybe it's the way I am using my iPhone. I take pics of whatever and they go into my camera roll. Eventually, I will open Photos on my Mac and import them and sort them into existing albums or create a new album. iTunes syncs and they are in their albums. The camera roll is now empty. I currently have seven pics in the camera roll. Last night, I upgraded to iOS 13 (since reverted for other issues) and I still see all my albums synced from my Mac in the correct location as before. However all those pics synced in their own albums show up in recents, plus the seven currently in there.

I've held off on putting this on my old iPad Air 2... hope it's stable and robust enough now. Is it worth installing yet, now that it's the 4th public / 5th dev?
I'm been running this on a work 10.5 for a few weeks now, no real problems. could crashes, couple screen issues with a few apps, but nothing in my primary productivity suite is impacted

Open Link in Background is still somewhat broken and inconsistent in Safari. Plus, they still haven’t added Motion & Orientation Access to Safari settings
I lost that drop down in the modal menu one beta version ago.. is it gone for good?

Ok so I’m a LONG time Apple user..but lately I feel kinda dumb owning Apple tech..googles pixel phones are beautiful IMO and android has gotten much better. you can see improvements in googles AI and at this point google really just needs to hire really good UI designers...and a Watch but as far as ecosystem I feel like google is a lot closer to it being complete than Apple is. Just left T-Mobile with a pixel 3A..but I haven’t opened it yet wanted some opinion from folks. I just think I’m paying for a name at this point with Apple..I don’t think I do enough on an iPhone to pay 1k

It’s a matter of preference. I mean, you might prefer Android to iOS, you might not. It also depends on what apps you use. Android could be the greatest OS ever made, I still wouldn’t use it because it doesn’t have Things, Bear and Fantastical, for example. While most common apps are available on both platforms, iOS has the best exclusives, in my opinion. It also works great with other Apple devices. And it’s simple and fast. Android has more customization options, better notifications, etc. Do you care about these things or other? Only you know.

You didn't even relay the correct or complete info.

As far as CarPlay the two reports in the thread had to do with Maps crashing or not loading, not the entire CarPlay system. It also was not on specific cars.

If you're going to cross post at least do it correctly.

As I said in my post, I was going by more than the MacRumors threads. I was also reading the Apple threads, and many people were complaining about CarPlay, especially it seemed with VW's.

I was just trying to be nice and let the public beta testers know that this beta may not be for them, that's all.

I do not mean this with any disrespect, but you need to chill out a little bit. You only mentioned one of the issues I listed, so I guess the other ones are valid? Not trying to start any "internet fight," was just trying to let people know they may want to skip this.

Well, first let me thank you for not lashing out at me like that other guy who said I was basically not telling the truth about CarPlay. According to him I said that all of CarPlay was broke, however, I did not say that. I said there had been issues reported that CarPlay would not work all the time especially it seems on Volkswagens, and he takes that as I am saying CarPlay is completely broken.

Everything else I reported were just issues I had read about, and wanted to pass it on to the Public Beta testers so they would think twice about installing, especially on their daily driver!

Some people are wound up a little too tightly! Ehh, whatever...I was just trying to help.

Works on my iPad 12.9 2018 with no problem. Beta 3, not tried this new one.
It’s a mission critical machine and has had no issues other than minor glitches and the annoying fact that cryptomator doesn’t work yet.

Any general cautions on functionality with the latest iPadOS beta? 2018 Pro 12.9" iPad. Wondering whether to get it installed now. General use, nothing fancy normally.

Me: iPhone iOS 12 and iPad iOS 13 beta, iMac macOS Catalina. Photos on iPad are multiple now. Many of them are double or even triple identically pics. No way to get rid of it. I’ve even made clean install on iPad. They are syncing even when iCloud photos are all off.

Okay, have to say be VERY cautious with this update. I had about 350 tabs open in Safari. The app was freezing a bit (it did this in the last beta version too) so.I double tapped, click close, then re-open. Normally, it re-spawns the app right back where I left off. NOT THIS TIME

ALL TABS gone, can’t get them back at all. IF anyone has any ideas, that would be great

Overall, safari DOES feel a bit wonky

Just another reminder IF you are doing an in place update, DO A BACKUP!

Use Betternet. Free VPN and the app works fine on iOS 13.

Download Betternet. Free and unlimited and works fine in iOS 13. I have been using it for over a year...can’t believe they still allow it to be free, quite honestly.

There is a camera roll and separate albums. Instead of being called “camera roll” it is just called recents. Nothing has changed.

FYI, free VPNs are free because they sell your data.

If anyone has a problem with the Music app, just delete it and reinstall it. I found a bug when enlarging the play window in iPadOS, I deleted and reinstalled and now it's fine.

FYI.

Edit: BTW, deleting a problem app then reinstalling it works for others as well. I had a problem with Day One on an earlier beta and deleting/reinstalling fixed it.

Is anyone seeing a weird grey box that appears at the bottom of the screen when entering mail? It is at the bottom/below both the Mailboxes screen and/or Inbox screen. It has a title of some sort, and if you tap it, it opens up compose new email. When you cancel the compose new email window, and return to either Mailboxes or Inbox screen, it is gone. But if you wait and return to mail, it will return.

Not sure how to attach an image, but can be seen here: https://cl.ly/4d0245eefa00

I couldn't agree more. They tried this once before and quickly reverted after the backlash. Wonder why they thought people would suddenly like it now.
On my iPad with public beta 3, I’ve got a “recent photos” album under albums, and that has 38,000 photos, going back as long as my photos have been on iCloud.

That seems to be a draft email: https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/...-iphone-ipad-for-faster-access-later-0155440/

That said, it's possible there might be something odd happening with that and the latest beta, at last for some: Issue with Mail?

Background update downloaded. Fiddling now...

didn't know it dropped until the alert...

Only bugs I've discovered (and reported through the Feedback app) so far:
  1. Took several attempts, and a restart, to rearrange app icons on the home screen because they'll float and hover but they won't stick, and then just snap back to where they were before
  2. Similar behavior with Calendar events - cannot drag them to a new time (regardless of account type: Apple or Google)
    • Workaround: events can be stretched, so you can "inchworm" them to where you want them
Otherwise, it feels really fast and smooth (not grading on a curve because it's a beta either), and I only had 2 very old apps that had issues: GateGuru and SPL Meter (both are basically abandonware).

This is my first iOS 13 install, and after testing it with every app (100), I don't see myself rolling back to iOS 12.

That said, would love to disable the long press entirely (as I did with 3D touch) because the context menu is pretty pointless, and just adds an annoying layer of friction that slows me down.
