I threw an apple through a windows and hit an android over the head
the windows broke, it shatters to a million pieces
the android started malfunction and it blows himself up
but nothing happen to the apple
well actually I did took a bite after I picked up
:apple:

Will this help with controlling colors for lifx scenes? Or actually work with nest? I know HomeKit doesn’t support nest or lifx scenes.

It could. Apps can expose functionality to be controlled by Siri shortcuts, so it's up to lifx to update their App. Then you can create automations using the stuff they have exposed.

it would be nice if you can make them for yourself for whatever app

But not too busy to tell us you’re too busy.

To be fair, I do think Siri Shortcuts is a band aid for Siri being too stupid to be helpful. With their Bionic Neural AI 4D engine with 20 VR cores they could use some of that power to figure out that the supermarket I just asked Siri to take me to is not across the Atlantic Ocean. Privacy settings or not. Google is miles ahead on that front.

I‘m using Shortcuts since the first app beta. It’s a great tool to create custom workflows and automate some stuff you couldn’t do before. And the more apps that Support shortcuts the more you can do with it. Interesting part is, that you even can write Python code in a shortcut, so this might be pretty powerful. And for all the lazy ones: you can export and import shortcuts. So maybe there will be people who share their shortcuts

Any chance this will ever expand to support other triggers besides Siri, like location or connection to other devices or networks? And be able to change phone settings like Do Not Disturb?
Every day before I head out the door I put on my Apple watch and turn on DND on my phone because I don’t want redundant notifications. And then the reverse when I get home. It would be great if I could program this to happen automatically.

It's stuff like this that shows there is a great deal of potential for expanding the capabilities of this App. It's obvious that Apple saw this (why else buy the Workflow app). I'm sure over the next few versions of it we'll see more and more features and integration. It's great to see progress being made!

Restore your phone using your backup that you make after deleting the profile.

Since you already have iOS 12 installed, you should wait until Monday when iOS 12 is publicly available to everybody, before you try to do the restore.

This doesn’t make any sense. What is the point restoring into the same iOS 12, this will give me the same state as prior. Apple site says:

“Tap Delete Profile. If asked, enter your device passcode, then tap Delete. Once the profile is deleted, your iOS device will no longer receive iOS public betas. When the next commercial version of iOS is released, you can install it from Software Update.”

That’s all, no mentions about restoring.

Does it finally run the automations in the background if you tell Siri to do something? Or do we still have to witness every single step?

The ssh shortcut is still there (from Workflow), so if you have a Mac at home... You can make a button (or a siri action) on your iPhone to tell your Mac to do something - one way to overcome any limitations to what would be conceivable or practical to run completely on your phone.

Hey folks, can you please help. All our family iOS devices are on beta train, mine is on dev build and my wife’s is on public build. What should I do to get off beta train? Do I delete the profile and wait until Monday? Or do I need to erase iPhones and iPads? I couldn’t find the answer on Apple website.

Delete profile, restart, and then backup the device in iTunes (don’t backup before you delete the profile, otherwise it will just be restored again from your backup.)

Then, erase and update/restore, and then restore your backup during setup.

Thanks for explaining! When I restore, will I restore to iOS 11 or 12 and, if latter, why is this step needed? And what do you mean update/restore? Update or restore? Restore to what?
No need to restore or erase or any of that. Simply delete the profiles and reboot and that's it. If you are running the GM now you are already on the release unless Apple found some issue with it and change it on Monday with a new build. If they do you will get an update on Monday otherwise you are all set.
