ilife iwork bundle?

am i crazy or did apple have a bundle for ilife and iwork 05 for cheaper? are they doing that for 06? for family packs?

Well I just took a nice hour long joy ride to the Apple Store and back.

Apparently they don't honor the educational discount instore on iLife... I was like are you sure, but she got the manager and he said so as well... that's pretty stupid, but whatever.

I just ordered it online, hopefully it gets here by Saturday.

I agree. The Tysons Store knows me as and EDU buyer. Between a PB and an iMac, and no issues at checkout, one would think that web pricing and store pricing for the same exact item would be no problem.

For me, I was at the Apple Store Tysons. And I really do hate doing web orders. So I paid the price to provide you all my opinions as I make my way through the upgrade.

Speaking of upgrade. Why charge those of us that have been doing iLife from the beginning (and now have been .Mac members for a few years) the same price as those that are just now coming onboard?

EDIT: For me it was only a 1 mile trip that took 20 minutes. (Got off of work at 6:30PM to get to the Aperture session at 7PM. Got there with just 7 minutes to spare).

iweb is basically apples way of getting more people hooked up to .mac... though this may be put in the "duh" category already..

I still have no interest in subscribing to .Mac though. I realize it is of great benefit to many people, but for me, Apple will have to offer more in order to get me to open my wallet for this service.

I've just installed iLife '06 now, having picked my copy up in the Apple Store Regent Street after work today. Looking good so far - but still waiting for iPhoto to update thumbnail cache... iDVD has been launched and is everything I wanted and more. Can't wait to get into that. GarageBand I haven't launched yet but I do use it so I'm glad there are improvements.

iWeb - is it me or is it a complete rip-off of Pages? It's bloody obvious that they took Pages and then changed it into iWeb. Hopefully it's better received than the former but it's too soon to tell. It's perfect for me to get a personal website up and running with the minimum of fuss - NOW I have a reason to get .Mac!!!

my copy has shipped...

but,
how would photocasting work with a PC? I'm the only one in my family who uses a mac, so if i was going to start using this, how easy would it be for them to get my pic's

I want iLIfe '06, but I feel like I should just wait for my iMac rather than pay to get iLife early by itself.

I think they just need to have RSS reading software. Thunderbird, among other programs, can do this. Internet Explorer 7 will have that feature.

.mac & iWeb

Hi All,

I did a little digging and found this shot from a iWeb intro video.
iweb.png

I believe that this will be the only option for alternates of .mac. However, with the right programing, a automator or shell script may make the process a two click publishing. We can hope it has a publish to folder... then a ftp choice, that would be sweet, but We'll find out soon enough.

Later

It here!!

I alredy got mine installing while i type this, it come in very nice ipod-size box and iWork '06 trial too. Happy :)

I was wondering can you design a calendar in iPhoto the print it off your self

You'd probably need special paper, etc. to make it look good, as well as whatever binding Apple uses on them, so probably not...

Printing calendars

I know it wont be as good quailty, just wondering if there is a print option as The calendars are bound to be expensive.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. Although I don't have the software yet, I'm guessing this probably isn't an option though. :( Can anyone verify this yet?
