Apple Releases iOS 10.2 With New TV App, New Emoji, and More

You know, apple has a program out for 6s phones with these types of battery issues? I just got my g/f's battery replaced (actually, in the end, they gave her a new phone, because after the batter swap, it would not turn on) and she is totally happy now, her battery lasts all day (as apposed to 3-4 hours).
 
There it is: another iOS update and another reason to be pi&^ off!

Please can someone tell me if you have the new 'Preserve Settings' for Camera working properly? I've just updated my SE and don't really see any difference when switching these settings on/off. It always gives me the last used options (mode/filters etc.) in the camera...

Also, don't remember how many times I reported this to Apple - how do you play ALL songs from one artist, not in Shuffle mode? Anyone know?

Ah ok. Wasnt aware that was its full intent. I was more thinking of the single sign-on deal whereby you wouldn't have to login but once. As I understand its mostly for tv subscription services that require you to login to your providers service to view certain channels. Netflix isnt really a cable subscription channel but then neither is Hulu and its in the list. I dont watch TV on my 4.7" telephone screen I use a 65" HD tv for that :) So I am not using the TV app itself for anything.

I checked my S/N and my phone isn't included in it...

That sucks, a friend of mine is having the same issues and theirs is not included either. What I say, is make an appointment with Apple and show them your problem. They will run some diagnostics, maybe they will replace it anyway. Can't hurt to try.

Yeah hopefully, just a pain getting time to book in appointment, wipe phone, re set up phone etc lol... my phone has already been replaced as my original handset headphone port randomly broke lol and I cant be bothered to waste time/screenshiels etc lol D:... Also hate they replace with a refurb and not a new phone...

Will see how I feel, I upgrade in March anyway so could get by on a backup battery :/
 
Love that the new TV app says 'Connect Apps' only to do absolutely nothing when I click it. I assume it's because I have no connectable apps. Gotta love not coding for empty states.

Yes it works. be default Photos app has default settings that it goes back to each time you launch it. These settings are to "preserve" your setting rather than setting it back to defaults. Like Live photos defaults to be on, but you can say "preserve" my setting it to off. so it doesn't come back on each time.

I think the app store is down for some reason. I'm also unable to download or update any apps. I've also logged out and now am unable to log back in. Other users are reporting similar issues on downdetector.

I could force it to update, but it was so difficult. It's just a matter of keep pressing the update button until it actually updated.
 
I'm in the UK and my Video app shows my purchased movies even with the toggle in settings turned off the not show purchased.
 
So I just spent the last hour and a half on the phone with Apple support. TV app on my iPad Pro doesn't display any videos I have locally stored on my device. Settings says the TV app is using 34GB of storage but the app isn't displaying any content. Support had me remove the TV app, reinstall it and resync my device via iTunes. Same issue after I did all that so they requested screen shots to forward on to engineering. In the meantime they don't want me to do anything with with my device in case engineering needs more information. Of course they couldn't tell me how quickly engineering would be able to look into this issue. FFS Apple.

Previusly, when I opened Camera it opened in normal Photo mode and when I changed it to a different mode, let say Slow-mo, when I closed Camera app completely and re-opened it again it always opened in Photo mode.
Now, it always opens up in the last used mode, regardless of what I have in Preserve Settings. Doesn't metter if Camera Mode is on or off, it always opens Camera app with the last used mode :/

Welcome to the new Apple where hardware gets neclected and software doesn't work. But hey, they gave it away for free. That's remarkable :cool:

I had to poke the "LibraryV" thing, select Downloaded from the menu and then they all showed up. It looks like all of the other categories in that menu are only for purchased stuff.

What's wrong with Apple lately? It seems that it takes forever to get new stuff come around and when it does it's half baked or broken. Apple should start all over from scratch if you ask me.

Yeah I made the mistake of thinking it was my hardware so I reset the  TV now I can't even log in lol :) But at least I know it's a network issue and not device itself!

Steve Jobs DIED thats whats wrong at Apple! Steve would NEVER ALLOW half baked crap software updates and products out the door. Apple just is not the same company as it used to be....
