What you said... who the hell thought that was a good idea?

Not Steve Jobs for sure. He wasn't an angel, but he would have a heart attack
if he was here today seeing what is happening with Apple...

Anybody else lose their text replacement list? I still have my customized list on my iPad Pro with iOS 9 but all that appears on my 6S and iPad Air 2 running iOS 10 is the "on my way" shortcut.

Well, not sure what you mean, I was saying that phone (s) sometimes asks me to click home button once more, even though it recognised my fingerprint and should go to home screen.

This! I thought I'm the only one with this issue here.

I don't see such setting, besides sometimes phone unlocks fine.

I don't understand why people want to do so much from a lock screen. If you can perform functions/tasks from your lock screen, doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of a lock screen? If you lose your phone or have it stolen, would you want that person to be able to respond to your text messages?! No, absolutely not! I just don't get it.

This update seems to have broken my iPad Pro's keyboard. It shows halfway up instead of being anchored to the bottom. Anyone else have this problem?

How many times do things have to be reported before they're changed??!!

I'm clearly not the only one from reading through this thread and the beta ones that finds the Music App a horror show.

Invisible trash button still present.

Still no visual cue to action 'play next, like, dislike etc' on individual tracks - only discovered yesterday out of frustration showing a colleague that a long press activates this. Previously had the three dotted icon.

No clear all option for 'up next'

Share sheets don't share in messages from safari.

Lack of grouping of notifications is a nightmare.

No auto scrolling when typing in a form such as this.... so you end up typing blindly...

These seem quite basic faults... and we've been through 8 betas!!!!

exactly! i don't want to do anything from the lock screen except open the camera app. that's it!

The best thing about this update is the Music App, at long last i am able to have my song list in artist order just like you have always been able to in iTunes, it is a huge improvement. I have been campaigning for this for years, in the past you could only have your song list in title order.

Well done Apple, but it took a bloody long time.

Maybe after they found that this update was bricking people's devices and issued a fix? Better to wait a few hours and be safe for most users. I bet you feel really smart right now, lol. That being said, I updated a week ago when the GM was released and it was flawless. But it's not always flawless and I know what I'm doing. There can be issues with OTA signing certs, etc. You never know what's going to happen at launch. Never a good idea to tell people as a whole that they should just jump in head first, because then stuff like this happens.

I have no issues recommending people do an update. There are zero official numbers as to how many had that issue, the vocal majority here represents a fraction of a percent of the userbase that upgraded but you guys will feel free to blow it out of proportion as usual. Good for you that you know what you're doing, have a cookie.

That's the weakest argument I've ever heard on here, and that's saying something. You'd do well to just admit you were wrong and move along. You sound so freaking salty right now. It's never best to advise a general user to update to a new version of anything immediately, full stop. Why should you care if people update right away? They can update when they feel comfortable. Usually with iOS updates, the real danger passes within hours and the long-term danger (battery life issues, etc) are known within a few days. No harm in waiting and having a little patience, wow.

I agree. Messages App Store is a joke. They've cluttered a clean professional messages app with a bunch of crap stickers / effects.

Surely they could have created A standalone fun app for teens? Which is integrated into iMessages

I get that the Messages functions aren't for everyone, but you don't have to use all those emojis and effects, they are simply there for the people who want similar 'fun' functions to that of snapchat et al. It only adds to the Messages features, it's still the same app. Identical but with more functionality. Getting upset about this seems overboard... Getting upset about legitimately missing functionality, and bugs is another thing however...

Anyone know if you can change to background in the Clock App back to white, it all black now after this update.

Uh, iOS 9 removed that.

Uhhh noooo, you could still select in iOS 9 manually the order you wanted your apps to appear, when I get home I can take a photo of one iPhone running iOS 9.

I kept expecting the music app to be tidied up. How strange that they're happy with that when ios9's music app was so useful and good looking. Had it all that OS.

Oh yeah, the Music app is atrocious, I just didn't mention it because I switched to Spotify in the beginning of the year once Apple music removed to option lo listen to free radio stations on my iPhone.

My only real complaint with this update is a lack of new background wallpapers. The new wave one is nice, but doesn't iOS usual get a few new wallpapers at major release time?

I'm at a loss for where you feel anyone on this forum is the general public in the first place. Second I simply said if everyone waits for everyone else to load it how do we get past that initial "someone else needs to update?" It's a logical question. Not a single person I know personally had any issue with the update today. This forum is extremely vocal when it comes to complaints but rarely vocal when things go right. Couple that with this being a tiny fraction of a percent of apples customers it's impossible to even begin to grasp the situation past those that post here.

Noticed that the name of the .ipsw file for my iPad Air no longer reflects the hardware model designation, just "iPad_64bit."

Since they can name the files anything they want, it could just be a different convention, but I wonder if they've actually consolidated some of the packages, instead of producing a separate file for every model?

My wife's iphone 6 the animations aren't working when she is receiving a message. Works when she sends one. Reduce Motion is 'off'
I would toggle reduce motion on then back off. If that doesnt help a reboot then finally a settings>general>reset>reset all settings. You will have to run back through settings to set like you want and add back any wifi networks if you do that. Otherwise apps and data remain untouched.

Don't be obtuse, we obviously meant the first revision of the initial public release.
Ohhhhhhh Yeah I would wait if I were you.

Well, I updated iPhone 6 and wife's iPhone 6 Plus, and I see that on both iPhones Touch ID doesnt work as good, also, often even if it recognizes fingerprint it still asks to press home button to unlock!

Apple! Fix Touch ID on older iPhones 6 and bring back its speed!

I really hate the new lock screen. I can't just touch ID to unlock. I have to use touch ID AND press the home button??! annoying

Well, not sure what you mean, I was saying that phone (s) sometimes asks me to click home button once more, even though it recognised my fingerprint and should go to home screen.

Thats there as a feature. Since the lock screen allows more use you can simply unlock (watch up top for the "unlock") and remain on lock screen to do stuff OR press the button to go on into the home screen. IF you want it to function like it used to go to settings>accessibility>home button and enable "rest finger to open" .

Great. Now everyone can see my last opened apps, news feed and events if they swipe right on my phone. How's this not a bad idea privacy-wise?
