Incredible update...my 7+ is miles snappier and no stuttering, plus smoother scrolling (youtube for example) and faster Safari.

Fantastic It's why I'm a new ios convert after more than a decade on Android. Superfast updates...and ones that fix issues. Android (specifically samsung) take note.

Take note, note 8 users received a update like two days ago for certain issues. So they are more than just taking note. P.S. we can actually take real notes.

For those of you who are developers, how on earth does this kind of thing happen? Hasn't the GM been out forever?

And they really need to get on that Mac OS Keychain flaw. How long's that been around?

Did this fix the bug where the screen sometimes doesn’t auto rotate on iPad Pro 9.7? I had this issue on every beta and GM of iOS 11.

That's how it works. When you have a beta profile installed, it does not look at production update servers. Working as intended.

Ohhhh thank you oh great one.

You would think Apple would have this pushed out to those on the beta profile if it’s so important to get it out the door within a week of base.

Thanks for the heads up on how this works.

I’m worried I’ve screwed my updates up by joining the beta programme.

I’ve deleted the profile but still not receiving the general release updates. Any suggestions?

I had to delete the beta profile then reboot the phone. Update showed up after that.

Am I completely in the minority that I haven't experienced really any issues with my 11.0 on an 8+?

Also restored from an iCloud backup from my 7.

You have the latest phone. Apple loves you. Especially coming from a 7.

So how does animation speed compare to the 7? Launching and closing apps especially after they’re in memory?

How does what happen?

Update is garbage!!

Severe overheating on charging to 100% for iPhone 7!

Pulled off charger felt like it almost burned my hand!

Powering off for 10mins then will power back on off charger. Already cooling down off charger.

 - was going to wait for the 1st update, now will wait for 2nd or 3rd update before moving from iOS 10.

Update is good. Overcharging issue no longer an issue. Powered off for 30mins the back on after initial update reboot. iPhone 7 is all good :)

Apple .... an Apple a day ;)

Apple today released the first official update to its new iOS 11 operating system, iOS 11.0.1. iOS 11.0.1 comes just a week after Apple released iOS 11 to the public.

The iOS 11.0.1 update can be downloaded to all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings --> General --> Software Update.

Today's update addresses several minor bugs that have been discovered following the release of the iOS 11 golden master. According to Apple's release notes the update includes bug fixes for iPhone and iPad.

iOS 11 is a major update to the iOS operating system with a redesigned Lock screen experience, a new customizable Control Center, a new Siri voice, a redesigned App Store, and an overhauled interface for the iPad. For more info on all the new features in iOS 11, check out our iOS 11 roundup.

Does this update not apply to IPhone 7 Plus? It’s not showing up on mine. It’s on my wife’s 7 though

Is it wishful thinking to hope that it fixes the horrible battery life issues?

Probably. But I’ll be even more ambitious and hope it means I can scroll through my home screen without a 1 second (or more) lag, and so on for all the other frequent 6s lag complaints.

Can't speak to the battery life yet, but the lag seems even worse somehow.

I am not gonna lie but I compared my 7 completed restored as new with in store iPhone 8. The animation in launch app and bring them from background is still slightly faster than the 8. Then again, not all apps are fully optimized for the 8 as yet and may take a few more days for developer to push an update

Was really hoping this update would fix Map Destinations widget. Unfortunately it does not look like they addressed. I keep getting the message to Turn on Significant Locations - which I have (repeatedly). Does seem snappier, that's for sure.

If your question is, "how does software ship with bugs?", the answer is: virtually all shipping software contains bugs. Especially tons of unknown bugs, but also typically quite a few known bugs. It simply isn't economical to ship bug-free software, with very few exceptions.

Yes, you still have time and may only be signed for a few more days left since iOS 11 is released
How does that work for devices that cannot upgrade to 11 (older 32 bit phones). Are they stuck on whatever iOS version they were left at, indefinitely?

Kind of surprising that Apple would "pull" the last possible update because of security concerns. Surely the last possible update would be more secure than whatever they are running before that version.

Well.. it should be way more polished.. Basically.. This is 3 weeks worth of bug fixes they've put into it since the released version was the same as the GM
