Take note, note 8 users received a update like two days ago for certain issues. So they are more than just taking note. P.S. we can actually take real notes.
True, the Tmobile Note 8 Already had two updates the past three weeks.

If your question is, "how does software ship with bugs?", the answer is: virtually all shipping software contains bugs. Especially tons of unknown bugs, but also typically quite a few known bugs. It simply isn't economical to ship bug-free software, with very few exceptions.
That's quite surprising. One would think nearly a year would be enough, but ok.

You have the latest phone. Apple loves you. Especially coming from a 7.

So how does animation speed compare to the 7? Launching and closing apps especially after they’re in memory?

I love Apple - but, also call it as it is.

Got my phone on release day - restored from iCloud backup right away - so, been up and running 4+ days now.

Apps open much more quickly and closing them is noticeably faster. Can zip away 10 apps in rapid succession with zero lost frames, lag, etc.

That being said - this is not an apples to apples comparison - coming from a 7 to an 8+. Not sure if that helps to make up the difference.

How does that work for devices that cannot upgrade to 11 (older 32 bit phones). Are they stuck on whatever iOS version they were left at, indefinitely?

ipsw.me and download appropriate iOS firmware for the device and update using iTunes by either holding down "option" on mac or "shift" key on pc while pressing "update" and select 10.3.3 firmware. You must put iPhone on recovery mode by turning off device, connect device to iTunes by holding down home button on device. Just so you know, developer are no longer supporting 32 bit device after iOS 11 since Apple wants all apps to support 64 bit. When downloading apps, they will only download the last supported 32 bit on iOS 10.

So, basically nothing?
Not sure why you're being intentionally obtuse. Sure, though, I'll take your bait.

To be absolutely specific for C DM here, who obviously knows what I'm asking, how is it possible that a major release needs an update less than a week from release?

Cue C DM's condescending response to a legitimate question...

As, so the actual question gets asked finally. Talk about condescending and obtuse.

And the answer to the actual question that was asked is quite simple: just basic reality in play. (Also covered at https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ail-bug-updated.2072570/page-10#post-25125273 and various other posts in this thread.)

Battery seems to be fixed.

Updated from 10 about 1 hour ago and lphone was 100% loaded. Did some browsing, updated 2 apps and about 50% standby.

Shows still 100%.

I see many other bugs that could, or may now have been fixed. I think Apple also should double down on quality quite fast. Though the fast update is welcome, but also a bit unnecessary especially given the fact that we now have the public betas programs.

After you delete the profile, to find the beta, do you have to put the profile back on before you update?

Not sure what you're asking.

I had the beta profile that allowed me to get the public beta releases as they came out. The latest PB release, the GM, is the exact same build as what was released publicly last Tuesday.

I was interested in getting the 11.0.1 update that was released this morning. However, this is an official release, not part of the beta program. So, my 'check for updates' would not see it. To get the update, I had to delete the beta profile and then reboot my phone. Once I did that, my phone would now search the official release servers for updates. It found the 11.0.1 update.

I downloaded and installed 11.0.1 which I'm running currently. I still don't have the beta profile and I'm not likely to put it back on my phone until/unless another upcoming release looks significant enough that I want to play with it before it's released to the general public.

Battery issues take a while to observe. My 11.0 was fine with battery after the first couple of days.

Also, the 20% drain you were talking about, if that was going on within the first hours/day of installing 11.0, I would expect that. A major new OS upgrade often has to re-index everything for spotlight, plus 11.0 had much more comprehensive deep learning on your photos, etc, so there'd be a lot of CPU intensive work going on in the background.

Never judge a new OS's battery potential within the first day or two. Let it bake a while first.

I updated my 5S last week when iOS 11 was first released. I tried the various suggestions on how to fix it. I still have been experiencing the battery drain issue. Hopefully, this update will fix it.

It takes almost 5 min for my ipad and iphone to connect to wifi after this update. Restarted both devices and told them to forget the network and reconnected it again, still took 5 min.

I agree with you. I noticed battery drain on the 5S. I'm testing this update if it will fix it as well maybe in the next 24-48 hours.
