So, anyone who actually types "I" (shift-i) would not be affected by this bug? .....(stated another way, the workaround is to type "I" ?)

I always thought "Hey Siri" actually did have voice recognition. When you set it up, they make you say it a few times, and I thought this was to tailor it to your voice.

It's more to just understand how you say it, not that it is you. Unless someone has a particularly different accent to you they will still be able to trigger it.

I mean, you're obviously right that iOS hasn't had paid updates in a long time. Plus, it's a minor update that only includes bugfixes. So, sure, noting that it's free is kind of redundant.
That was my point entirely. "You can download free software for free." That's basically what it said. Now, if she had pointed out that you could download Final Cut Pro X to your Mac for free... then yeah, that free is pretty darn important.;)

Does it fix the problem with iPods going to the home screen when using the calculator or timer from control center on the lock screen? Also the one where you can access control center on the lock screen even though it's disabled. (wtf??)

I would’ve been perfectly happy if Apple had just now released a polished iOS 11 instead of all the patches.

now if they would just iron out the 3D touch gesture in the Music app. A quick push on a song brings up the menu it's supposed to bring up AND plays the song, even though that's not what I was doing. Stupid.

I’m a fan of agile software developments and frequent updating. However, I wish Apple could find a way to make minor updates like this take less time to apply. This update is very small yet it takes a long time to prepare, install, and configure. It should just be a matter of shutting down some services, swapping out some libraries, and bringing it back online and reboot normally if necessary. At least for something as minor as this.

Agreed, and as long as the sheeple keep updating to the latest and greatest on day one, instead of holding back, nothing will change. It will only get worse. The bleeding edge updaters are the beta testers. Doing it for free... for the richest company in the world. And a company who's standards are slipping, and slipping badly. iOS10.3.3 here, patiently waiting for a more stable product before jumping on board.

And as long as people like you keep using the word sheeple, people like me will continue to seriously dislike you & completely discount anything you say.

And then would still have updates to release to address issues that would pop-up or that they haven't gotten to address yet.

That's the thing, it's mostly down to how people remember (or not remember) being it like for them. If something didn't affect them then they don't remember things being out of the ordinary.

The reality is that it's all not that much different it's just that some other people are experiencing some issues with iOS 11, while a different set experienced them with iOS 10, or 9, or 8, etc.

Perception is being treated as reality, even though the two are not the same.

Ok, so how many updates did iOS 9 receive in the first month of release? You’d need a pattern longer then two big updates for that point I think.

To address the point of people thinking that it's really different and much worse than it's ever been it seems like even a single most recent example from just the previous major version from a year ago does a rather good job of it.

No it doesn’t, because I remember an awful lot of complaints of iOS 10 bugs.
Your argument is an iOS release bug status is measured by how many updates it gets in the first month.

Yet another issue that doesn’t plague me because I turned auto-cowrecks off a long time ago. ;)

However, I have definitely been having problems with “Hey Siri”, so here’s hoping that this release fixes that.

I like to compare IOS updates from .0 - .3.5 to paint correction on a car.
1. Wash
2. Claybar
3. Pre-cleaner wax
4. Wax
First release always has issues, by the time you get to the final release, everything is ironed out.. It’s just part of the journey

Meh. It's just silly padding, like the constant "this update is all about emoji!" nonsense.

Let's remember the context of this where it was in relation to iOS 11 having more releases and thus being worse than any other iOS version, when just the previous one a year ago was just about the same. That's what I was pointing out. Seems like any arguments (direct or implied) about measurements and what they mean or anything else have been made by others: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-autocorrect-bug.2086946/page-3#post-25435897

Settings, Passcode, Allow Access When Locked, Control Center.

…and push back the release of the iPhones 8, 8 Plus, and X by two months? And risk still running into the same issues anyway because they weren't recognized or prioritized correctly because too few people were encountering them?

How about the bug that causes my iphone 6 to go from 100% to completeley drained the second I watch a video through safari? IOS 11 is hands down the worst IOS that has come out of Apple. Almost makes me want to switch teams because of this bs

Hopeful they've addressed the battery issue too. Mine's not that bad, but it is noticeably diminished from earlier versions of the OS. Used to be my phone lasted a whole day with power to spare. Now it's out of juice by 6pm. My usage hasn't changed. :(

Still remains buggy as ever - when I open the Apple Clips app on my iPhone 7, I haven't even started recording anything and the phone heats up so much more than expected. The camera app doesn't do that. And this is with filters off.

Just one example of many apps that heat up the phone the moment I open it up. They need to PURGE these bugs in iOS 11!

Really hope one of these addresses all the framerate drops I see over on 11 on my 7.
