Haha, iOS 11 bugs just never end. I go to update to 11.1.1 and it prompts me for passcode, but no keypad pops up to enter it...

iOS is such a turd...

I thought I was crazy starting to see bunch of Reddit post [?] all over the places. So it is in fact a bug lol.

I almost added, "This isn't a history question." to my original quote just for someone bringing this little nugget to my attention.:) I sort of figured the "Are (present tense) there some pay..." instead of "Were (past tense) there some pay..." would have taken care of that nugget + with Juli talking about 11.1.1... <-- not a decimal:p:D

Well, some “updates” come with a cost. When a developer stops supporting an app and releases a subsequent version for sale. Granted that’s developers, not Apple, and it’s app software, not OS.

But it does bring back memories of MS charging $100 to upgrade Win3.1 to Win95, etc

Dude, not only is iOS littered with bugs, they’re embarrassing bugs. Can’t even get the keyboard and calculator to work right lol Apple software quality control is so piss-poor it’s laughable. If any competitors did anything like this, you guys would be raking them over the coals.

I just don't recall previous iOS major releases having this many bug releases following the initial drop. 11, 11.0.1, 11.0.2, 11.0.3, 11.1, now 11.1.1 and 11.2 coming in a few weeks. Seems just a wee bit excessive. Perhaps SW Quality just wasn't ready for the major iOS 11 release.

Which is ironic because iOS 11.0 had more beta releases than any other version of iOS. Maybe they’ll have 25 or 30 betas of iOS 12.0.

My Pro 12.9 just freezes at random times, hoping this helps with that. Ugh.

Although my update just says it fixes the I issues, and a Hey Siri issue.

The random freezes have been my largest issue as well. Total PITA. I’m so done with volume up one click, down one click, press power button. It’s still 50/50 with that solution. I’ll know in a few days I guess. :apple:

As if Windows or Android or really any other OS or software in general hasn't had, or doesn't have or won't have, all kinds of bugs, from silly to serious. It happens to pretty much all.

What happens if you tap on "Cancel" and try again?

I’m glad Apple made that autocorrect big their top priority. What with all the battery issues and network activity indicator issues people are having. Let’s make sure the ****ing keyboard texts correctly. Wtf

Tim: Craig did we fix the calculator bug ?
Craig: Sure, expect the fix in the next 1 + 0 = 2 releases from now
Tim: I see, everyone can code !!
Except a very few who can't...

I'd imagine that something like prevalence and prominence of something might have at least a little bit to do with all of that.

It does, but I don't rely on wifi being secure anyway. Maybe I'll update once everything is fixed, but dang, I really don't want to slow down my phone even more.
Yeah I hear that. Not sure which model you have, but my 6S is running just as fast as iOS 10 except for an occasional animation stutter when I unlock with TouchID.

Hoping that goes away as the versions pass, typically Apple will do some optimization for older phones, but it’s not a big deal in any event. 6/6 Plus users are in worse shape, the 1GB RAM is a real constraint, and I definitely wouldn’t want to be trying to run iOS 11 on a 5S (from what I hear).

Settings, Passcode, Allow Access When Locked, Control Center.

…and push back the release of the iPhones 8, 8 Plus, and X by two months? And risk still running into the same issues anyway because they weren't recognized or prioritized correctly because too few people were encountering them?
Umm thanks for nothing? That's my point. I mean, do you think I'm stupid? I do that, it doesn't work. Can still access Control Center from the locked screen with it off. Have you tried it on your iPhone? Go ahead. It doesn't work on iPod touch at least.

Um, yes.

You’re assuming the only reason the bugs were patched is because more people ran the OS. I’m not willing to concede that. What the heck is the beta program for? It’s possible that has something to do with it, or it’s possible Apple was rushed and decided iOS 11.0 was good enough at launch. Either way, we’re both speculating.

You’re also assuming the new iPhones can’t work or be made to work easily on iOS 10. Maybe you’re right, maybe Apple engineers aren’t as smart as I think they are.

I also think yearly iOS releases are too much, but that’s sort of beside the point.

And then would still have updates to release to address issues that would pop-up or that they haven't gotten to address yet.
Wait, you’re saying perfection doesn’t exist? I’m shocked.

No amount of betas will help. The calculator bug was reported by many as far back as beta 1 or 2 in June. Here we are and it won’t be fixed till 11.2 next month.

No mention of the huge LAG when typing in iMessage, web address and more. Sometimes you have to wait for seconds before the keyboard responds.

I know, right?! Gosh, the keyboard lag has been there for a long while now, and it still is not fixed. I am sure that other people, just like I, have sent feedback about this. Apple must know by now.
