The update is for all iOS devices. Apple never lists all the bug fixes in their release notes.
It'll be interesting to see what else got changed, although we might not really know and/or it might mostly be some security fixes. (The build number seems to have gone up by over 50, so that could mean something, but at the same time the update itself wasn't all that large.)

Hard to believe this wasn't tested and known about before shipment... wonder what else they know that might go wrong in the near future

This issue didn't impact every single iPhone X. There are always going to be issues that can't be found in small scale testing and won't be able to be identified until release. This happens with every piece of hardware and software from every company. It's why x.1 and x.x.1 updates exist.
[doublepost=1510867407][/doublepost]Apple doesn't release updates just for a single iPhone model anymore. Even if a release fixes problems with a single device, all devices will get it as they want to keep everyone on the same version number. This has been the case for years. It shouldn't be a surprise to see this also available for the iPhone 7 or 8 even though it's mainly for the X.

They have had at least a few for just some isolated devices before, although I don't quite recall how recent the last release like that was.

Yes, because the lab where they work on these devices is 30 degrees? That seems like a pretty weird thing to test considering no other iPhones have had this issue.

Well, I don't suppose the lab is underwater either, but that does stop you testing for water resistance.

No fix for ridiculous text delay bug. You type you wait, text, wait, text,wait..... annoying!

Did it also fix that cracklings earpiece ?

I doubt it as that bug was found latter on in the release cycle of the phone. I suspect that will be just rolled up into the .2 release as it is not near as bad of an issue.

You’re right. I recall an early one that was only for the 7 and 7 plus, 10.0.2 or 3 rings a bell. Similarly, watchOS 4.0.1 only released for LTE S3

Maybe it’s just me and my iphone7+...., but is anyone still hearing of issues with massive amounts of battery loss with iOS 11????? I am sometimes having upwards of 20% or more in 10 minutes time??? I have separately tried erasing all settings. That didn’t work then I tried doing a complete reset and starting fresh and that hasn’t worked?! I am updated to the recent software update for iOS 11... is this still a widespread issue ?? I finally made an appointment at the Genius Bar for next Tuesday hopefully they have some answers. Maybe it’s a hardware problem I don’t know but it seems to be synonymous with my update of iOS 11. I did have a cracked screen replaced at the Genius Bar back in August

I’m done updating until they address older phones. Each update makes my battery life on the 6 worse, even with a clean restore and set up as new phone. Maybe will get lucky and a public jailbreak will be released at 11.1.1

Wow. Already the 7th public release of iOS 11. Wasn’t until Jan 24 we hit that mark with iOS 10 (or March 27 if you consider that iOS 10 launched as iOS 10.0.1. Even later than that if you had an older device as 10.0.3 was 7 & 7 Plus only).

Welcome the fixes but this shouldn’t need to be happening. Most people don’t like updating once a year never mind once a week.

I think Apple is doing it on purpose to older phones..It’s happening with my 6. My battery can drain over 50% sitting idle for about 45 minutes. It’s complete bs they are ignoring older phone models

Check out my post right before yours, I’m having the same problem my battery on my iPhone 7 Plus is down to 50% three hours after I take it off the charger ?
It’s horrible I don’t know what to do, taking it in next week to the Genius Bar to get a check up from the neck up

They have but it's been a long time. Last one I recall was for the iPhone 6 release and applied to a single carrier (Verizon maybe) where there were issues. Since then, they've released updates to all devices, again to keep all the versions the same across the lineup. That way you don't have some current gen devices on 9.12 and others on 9.13 or whatever.

Yeah, my phone used to only lose about 2% power over eight hours of sleep now it’s up to about 25% loss overnight

Is this still a known widespread issue?

It is great they released a fix for iPhone X really fast, but if there isn't anything interesting for iPhone <=8 and iPad owners why bother them with an upgrade? 11.1.1 was released a few days ago...
