How does a bug affect some apps but not others that use the same access functionality?

That’s a good question, I’m not a developer, just post what I found here to know if someone else can reproduce this bug on 11.1.1 or 1.1.2.

On my iPhone happens each an every time.

I thought I was doing something wrong but I’ve just sent a picture from Wire app to one of my contacts.

I’m attaching a picture of the access set to never:

Hard to believe this wasn't tested and known about before shipment... wonder what else they know that might go wrong in the near future

Who knows what the future holds. Quality Testing at Apple has gone down the drain since we-know-when. There, I said it.

I think that Apple should just release updates for certain iPhones only. Really what is this update going to do with the many people that still have iPhone 6s Plus or below!

My I phone 6s that was purchased by my employer has been having terrible battery since downloading these updates is Apple sending bullets out with these updates to force me into upgrading to a newer phone.

Quite hysterical that people on the Android side whine and complain about the LACK of updates, yet here we are in iOS land, with updates quick and plenty to make things better, and most of you are whining about it!

Figures...

Different scenarios.
Android complaints are for OEM versions of Android as your carrier allows them through. Stock Android get them frequently and quickly.
Comparison should be Stock Android vs. Stock Apple.

Show me the evidence that hardware failure rates are higher. These phones are more complex than what Jobs was shipping and the OS can do a lot more things. More software updates and bug fixes doesn't mean quality control is going down the drain. They are fixing things quickly and efficiently. They are also shipping 3X as many iPhones than at any time Jobs was alive.

Jobs shipped a phone that lost reception when you held it the wrong way and shipped a free bumper to fix the issue.

Very true. He also shipped the first version of cloud syncing for contacts and calendar, called MobileMe

It was incredibly unreliable for everyone who used it. iCloud syncing now handles close to a billion devices and is incredibly reliable.

(BTW I still think Jobs was great)

My brand new iPhone X froze during Update... had to force restart and now it's very slowly updating (white background instead of black for some reason).

It got very hot during the update, which has me concerned.

I think Apple is doing it on purpose to older phones..It’s happening with my 6. My battery can drain over 50% sitting idle for about 45 minutes. It’s complete bs they are ignoring older phone models

11.1 sort of fixed the really bad battery drain issue. The battery life was much better in V.10 on my 6s+. Will try holding off from minor updates until there are reports on the battery life improvements. So far though it looks like we are stuck with this new battery life for the older phones.

He was great, but he wasn't God and Cook isn't the devil like so many here insinuate endlessly.

NO ONE (essentially) gets stock Android.

Keep thinking that. It isn't. Like many, I use a number of cloud services. iCloud has been improving. I use it for my basic Apple stuff. As a whole cloud service (including file sharing), it isn't dependable nor diverse enough in its present incarnation for that. I find One, Google, Box, and Dropbox to currently be a better, safer, more reliable option.

There are a number of articles and comparisons that agree more in line with my personal experience.

Telling at where their priorities are, this fix got immediate reaction and addressing and yet other glaring problems like the Calculator App being broken is slated for 11.2 ....

Perhaps that's because a VERY small number of people tend to type fast enough on the calculator to trigger that bug. Prioritization based on the number of people effected seems reasonable to me.

Fixing a problem that effects BROAD usage of most phones in some US states and some entire countries, and for which there is no workaround, IS "telling". But in a good way IMO

You could make the same argument with the iPhone X bug, just tell those guys to wait until its warmed up for the very small amount of people using it in the cold. The number of iPhone Xs vs total people running iOS 11 would to me be very lopsided to me.

The fix is already in the beta so its already done, and in 11 There are tons of glaring issues in iOS 11 that could have been fixed along with this roll out (the calculator was just an example and already fixed in 11.2 ready to roll), it seems like a waste that every single person in the world just got pushed an update, wasted bandwidth and time, for a single fix for a small number of devices in the wild for a "very specific use case".

Fixed iPad Pro 10.5 being unresponsive for 2-3 seconds after unlock, and netflix playback lagging when pulling down notification bar. Great update.
