I think Apple is doing it on purpose to older phones..It’s happening with my 6. My battery can drain over 50% sitting idle for about 45 minutes. It’s complete bs they are ignoring older phone models

I had that problem with my 6 and had my battery tested at the Apple store. They replaced it for $79.00. All is good now. Have you tried a reset?

I'm not equating an iPhone X to a vehicle. I was just highlighting that all X owners don't live in Miami and Apple surely knows this when engineering a telephone.

It's going to be in the 20's tomorrow night where I am and colder for a few months. Good thing I don't have an iPhone X I guess  What a weird, rare event, huh?
You’re failing to see my point and mischaracterizing what I am saying. The standard operating temperature for the iPhone is 32F-95F. Thus, there would be zero reason for Apple to test the phone under 32 degrees. And because it’s such a weird issue, it probably wouldn’t even come up even if they did have someone stand in a freezer for 10 minutes.

Good timing. My iPhone X screen froze up while waiting at the waiting at the bus stop last night. The odd thing is it happened almost immediately after removing the phone from my coat pocket.

Anyone else finding that the lock screen wallpaper loads strangely after this update?

Mine sort of wipes in from side to side or top top to bottom depending on the image.

Pick your poison...

iOS - More bugs and more updates.

Android - Fewer bugs and fewer updates.

A lot of people haven't even gotten the 11.1.1 update yet for the keyboard I to A[?] bug.

That is not odd.
It could have had the same issue in your coat pocket as well, but since you couldn’ t see the iphone, you wouldn’ t know.

Do you have any actual basis for that claim? I've owned both and have always experienced more bugs on android

Google releases WAY more software updates than most of their customers get because most manufacturers have to integrate any google update with their own modified version of android. For the vast majority of google updates, the manufacturer just doesn't bother.

Samsung phones are lucky if they ever get 2 major releases after purchase, while apple has been releasing major software versions compatible with phones that are 4 years old.

Apple is just amazing! We received about 4 updates within 2 months. Android receive this many updates within 2 years.
Well, there's no denying that iOS 11 needed those updates badly. Now, as someone still on 10.3.3 with a 6s annoying me to update, is it okay, especially when it comes to battery life, to finally update?

as someone who works in sports broadcasting and it being football season... yup downloading this bad boy now!

Or:

Android - Enough bugs but not as many updates to address them.

Unless we spin it the other way where Google puts out quite a few regular updates for their own phones, in which case it's back to the same thing as iOS:

Android - More bugs and more updates.

I hope 11.1.2 fixes the photos security bug in 11.1.1 where an app can still have full access to the photo album even though the privacy >settings switch is set to never.

This happens in Signal and Wire, who knows in how many more apps. This bug does not appear to affect WhatsApp nor Telegram.

How does a bug affect some apps but not others that use the same access functionality?
