Airplay 2 has been working with the betas. It worked on the 2 Apple TVs I have also running the beta.
What generation ATV do you have? Not seeing anything on my 4's.

I swear if Apple makes this exclusive to ATV5...

No I have the 4th. There’s no ATV5 you mean the 4K? Anyway I had the beta on my Apple TVs and they should up individually on my airplay menu. I could choose music and all independently on my iPhone X.

"Hey Siri, PLAY the news"? Seems like a peculiar way to activate that. Why not "Read the news"? Or "What's the news"?
Might be something to do with the fact that it is PLAYING a news Podcast from The Washington Post and lets you switch to Fox News, NPR, or CNN

I see my two ATV's show up in the airplay menu, but still no support for multi-room audio. Do you have that on your end?

I still can only click one airplay device at a time :/

I REALLY hope this fixes the lock screen bug where stuff juest doesn't appear on the lock screen like it should (notifications, clock, etc). And yes, I've submitted many a bug report with screenshots.

Hmm that I have not tried to use yet. I will when I get home and see.

What? You missed these versions?
They were, without doubt, the most spectacular releases EVER!

Unfortunately, Apple removed all the spectacular stuff in 11.2.5...

I've only been in the Echosystem since 9/14 and I don't remember them skipping numbered releases like that. Hey, they're only numbers... and there's plenty of those to go around, right?

people might not care about this but it grinds my gears that they skipped versions

they have NEVER done this
Agreed. Odd and off-putting. What's important is that they have fixed some issues, sure, but it's nonsensical to skip from a .x.2 version to a .x.5 version. I wonder why, hmmm.

Siri, especially in the home automation/voice control market, is in the dark ages compared to Amazon/Google and obviously hasn't made the effort to keep up. I wish they wouldn't force updates on us for something many of us won't use.

Apparently, I must be the only one whose BT headset (Plantronics Legend) regularly (as in more often than not) disconnects from my iPhone when a call is answered, or during a call or any time it feels like it.

Actually, I know I'm not the only one because my friend with many different BT headsets has the same problem with all of them.

It's beyond frustrating to place a call with the BT headset working and when the call is answered on the other end, the iPhone switches to the earpiece in the phone, all the while I'm repeating like a parrot "hello?".

I guess this will never get fixed.

Apple today released iOS 11.2.5, the tenth official update to the iOS 11 operating system that first came out in September of 2017. iOS 11.2.5 comes two weeks after the release of iOS 11.2.2, an update that introduced Safari mitigations for the "Spectre" vulnerability impacting Apple's iOS devices.

The iOS 11.2.5 update can be downloaded for free on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings --> General --> Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, the iOS 11.2.5 update introduces support for the HomePod, which will be released on Friday, February 9, and it brings fixes for several bugs in CarPlay, Messages, and Mail. The update also includes audio-based podcast news delivered via Siri, which was also officially unveiled in iOS 11.2.2 last week.

iOS 11.2.5 appears to address a bug that allowed a malicious link to freeze the Messages app on iOS devices. As of the sixth beta, the link in question no longer affects the Messages app.

Full release notes for the iOS 11.2.5 update are below:Apple is supposed to be releasing an iCloud Messages feature that was pulled ahead of the iOS 11 release, and which many people are eagerly awaiting, but there is no sign of the feature in iOS 11.2.5.

Apple has also promised that new, more extensive details about battery life will be coming in early 2018, but those new tools are also missing from iOS 11.2.5, so we may instead see them in the next iOS update.
