So much this. Many people will deride this criticism and call it nitpicking, but it's flippin' annoying. That real estate is precious, and there is ZERO reason to fill it in with a header that looks like it came out of a third grade book report.

Sometimes Apple these days just seems to like change for the sake of change. I'd like to take whoever had this bold font header monstrosity of an idea behind the shed.
I guess I don't get it. Real estate isn't limited you just keep scrolling down.?
I confess I didn't even notice this till I compared an iPhone I haven't updated yet. Easy to read, can't miss it. Sounds like a win to me. Just mho.

When I read higher phones having issues, really makes me hesitant to try this on my 5s...

I don't understand how a company can release an OS with bugs. Don't they do thorough testing or they just want everyone else to cleanup their mess?

I changed my language to American English (with a great deal of pain- it has to be said!) but kept Siri’s voice British. This way- language translate works until they change it officially.

I live in France and I’m British. I can’t tell you what you want to know specifically, but if it helps: I can change my language to US English, but keep the voice British. This now translates French as intended. France French though.

Thanks - but I'd rather not change to U.s English.

I can't see why Apple couldn't support British / Canadian English to French. There is very little difference verbally between each variants. Boneheaded like.

iPhone SE seems a touch—yet tangibly—smoother under iOS 11.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice this!! :D

Apple, like a lot of companies have a window of opportunity. Apple had to release before the next iPhone. They release the software when its "good enough" or better - as long as there aren't show stoppers. Its never going to be perfect. Well, there have been exceptions, such as Apple Maps.

So I'm noticing that my 7 Plus seems a little laggy, not much. Like switching apps seems to lag a bit longer than iOS 10.

Also I may not know much about this but didn't Apple say with iOS 11 your photos and stuff would take up less sapce.

Well after updating I have less space on my 256GB. I had 94GB free before and now it's at 85GB.

My iPad Air took the update like a champ and plenty of iPhone 6 phones with no issues. Didn’t do my 6 plus yet but I’m not too worried.

I noticed that animations in games like Candy Crush are now jerky and laggy on my 6s+. I dare say that will be cleared up by the next point release or two.

yeah, notice it just now, why would Apple remove this feature? I'm bummed about that, as I normally send pictures using iMessage.

oopps, my bad, iMessage was "off" on my iPad air 2.
My iMessage is on all the time... And I still could not find the option to share via iMessage in the photos app or camera app...

It turns out to be caused by the MDM management/profile. Never mind...

Agree with that statement! At least in sentiment!

However- the translation aspect has proven very very useful these past few weeks and I can’t say I have noticed anything different. It’s not systemwide. Spell check still spells words the proper way, and the dictionary is still British English.

I don’t suppose it matters, I’m pretty sure it’s not really difficult to add all the English variants - probably won’t be long.

Anyone else notice that when you hit the home button to wake the phone the background is black for a second then goes to my normal wallpaper?

I have an iphone 7 plus.

Everything is working fine but the lag is a little annoying.

I notice that too. My background image sort of fades in from black.

Yesterday I told myself that I would wait a few days before updating my 2017 9.7 inch iPad to iOS 11. But today I thought to hell with it, so I updated. 3 mins to download 10 to install and open . Very nice clean, open look and all my apps seem to be working well.

Unless I'm missing it, you still can't add the native VPN option to control center.

Also, prior to updating I had 7+GB available on my phone and after the update, I have 13+ GB. I'll take that for sure!

I updated an iPhone 6s Plus and immediately noticed heat on the back of the phone. It just stays there. Battery draining more rapidly. Just restarted the phone again and will keep an eye out for the heat/battery drain issue. Anyone else having this problem?
The CPU gets worked hard to do the update, then immediately begins indexing. Let it sit for a few hours.

Anyone else having issues on orig 12.9” iPad Pro with four finger swipe up to get to app switcher?

My keyboard changed - and it really sucks. Much smaller (it feels) in landscape mode - it feels cut off on the left and right sides. Can I change this?
