iPad 10.5 with the pencil, i thought you could start writing a note when the iPad asleep? Is this a feature? How do i access it.. may be wrong in advance :)

I guess I don't get it. Real estate isn't limited you just keep scrolling down.?
I confess I didn't even notice this till I compared an iPhone I haven't updated yet. Easy to read, can't miss it. Sounds like a win to me. Just mho.
It limits what a person can see at a glance. It's also pointless. Why do you need to "read" it? Have you ever been confused about what app you're in? In almost a decade of my life with my iPhone, and Blackberries before that, I haven't.

The only thing I kind of depsise is the large font in the headers of all native apps now.
MAILBOXES
MESSAGES
SETTINGS

And so on.

I could tolerate it when it was just in the Music app, but now that's it everywhere, seems really kind of cheesy looking and a waste of screen real estate, especially on the phone.

I hate to say this but it strikes me as looking very Zune-like.

The siri voice sounds the same after the update. Anyone else having that issue?

iPhone 6 here. Yes, Siri didn’t change AT ALL and doesn’t sound anything like the samples I have heard on YouTube for iOS 11. I get a bad feeling those of us on the 6 didn’t get the goodies. :-(

My 6-Plus is quite toasty as well. I can watch the battery go from 100% to 10% in less than 30 minutes. This is nuts. I've been trying everything I can to isolate it, but it's dog-slow and the battery drains even when plugged in so trying each thing is taking forever as I have to pretty much shut down and let it charge some.

This is the worst upgrade yet on this device.

Very pleased with how smoothly it runs on my ipad mini 4. (updated from 10.2). Did not heat up and no signs of battery drain so far.

I feel bad others’ upgrades didn’t go so well. Mine went great! Siri has more personality in her voice the control center is optimized for me. Safari works the same. Files is neat. The wallpaper is ok. The notifications and lock screen are gold. I really like it

To be honest i'm shocked by the little glitches and design inconsistencies (check out the screenshot tool now, no way it EVER would have looked that way before in an apple product) and you for me, i feel like standards have massively dropped at Apple. I remember hearing about Steve Jobs firing people for little mistakes, and i think it's become clear they are not held to the same strict standards anymore.

The sheer design space wasted on the tall title apps, the calculator, again the screenshot tool is just.. wow it's design would be expected from a new design student... plus there's just inconsistencies with font positioning, weight, different prompt styles..

I'm not going to say 'i'm leaving apple' cause frankly, they don't care if they lose one customers, but considering the iPhone X is $1800+ in my country, and they have OS problems like this, and they didn't consider people may not want a rounded edge triangle coming out of their video, i have to wonder what is happening with Apple? are they likely to go downhill? i realise they make plenty of money, but long term it'll become a problem.

6S and Air2 both updated fine. Everything working well. Only thing I noticed is my display brightness needed to be adjusted back to halfway, after the update it was set much lower.

Update: I guess auto brightness was set to “on” as default after the update....

Everytime is the same crap. It is reindexing, settings change, apps get downloaded, etc etc etc etc.
Good grief.
Tiresome.
Wait at least 48h before whining.
litterally tens of thousands used this version of IOS before you without those issues, think about that.

When I read higher phones having issues, really makes me hesitant to try this on my 5s...

I don't understand how a company can release an OS with bugs. Don't they do thorough testing or they just want everyone else to cleanup their mess?

Many tens of thousands of people have tested it (maybe even a million if counting public betas), if there are bugs, they are very specific to a certain combination that couldn't be tested for. Bugs essentially in .0 versions are impossible to avoid because they have to freeze fixing some of them to make sure they take care of the most important ones before shipping the phones (so part of the code is frozen).

iPhone 6, 6S and iPad Air 2 updated and all are running just fine. Outstanding update Apple. Great job!!

Same here for iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, and iPad Pro 9.5, all updated via iTunes 12.7 on my iMac. Haven't had a lot of time to play with stuff, but so far, so good. Very impressed with the iPad stuff, in particular, of course.

Installed OTA on iPad mini 2 and I am surprised that it is working fine and better than I expected. It feels more smooth than 10.3.3 in a lot of ways. I am still learning the new ways that common things are done. I thought slide over was a thing of the past but it’s very easy now to just drag an app up from the dock and it just takes its place on the side. I like it so far.

Updating my 5s now, which maybe on its last leg, but heck it still functions quick well, and it works for my needs (make calls, take calls, which are rare these days, send and receive messages, and occasional photos)

I am the only one who prefer's 4" screens over the "bigger" iphones?

I like the smaller form factor and went from 5s to SE. I see so many with with the phablet and as it is their right to choose, I just don't like the larger form. Each to their own....

Haven't done my SE yet. I always usually use my iPad Air 2 as a test. Update came across fine and I do hear the 'new' Siri voice. It seems somewhat smoother, not sure if I like the tone or inflection though. Guess will get used to it.

So, it appears - as it does in nearly every iOS or OS update that roughly 90+/-% are happy or thrilled and the remaining 10 +/-% are questioning A)Why Apple hates them personally B)What they did to deserve this after being a loyal Apple koolaide drinker for "X" years and are thinking a Droid device looks pretty good D)Infintesmal % Think Apple serious can't "Innovate" anymore and this update is By Far, the worst thing Apple has Ever done.

Ahh... continuity

I like the update overall. There are a couple bugs, one of which is in iMessages when I finish typing something and hit the blue send button, the text shifts to the right then back before sending. Also, my brother is updated to iOS 11 and doesn't always get my echo animation text. I'm sure it'll get resolved in a future update. My only two complaints are that they still have the volume in the middle of the screen AND when I get it my car, my podcasts or music start on their own. Wish they didn't do that! As an aside, I use downcast instead of the native podcast app. I never liked it.

I noticed that its not as bright as well.

It seems like 50% reduction by default, see this comparison at max brightness on both:

It seems Apple took the easy way out, and ‘solved’ battery issues in iOS11 by capping brightness.
