It's available. Press and hold the New tab icon (right bottom corner)

Correction — Press and hold the "Tab Switcher" button, not the "New Tab" icon (that's the + symbol, and long-pressing that will do nothing).

Doesn’t seem to be that much different in the future than it was earlier today.

*slap* You're a MacRumours staff member. You're supposed to be boasting about all the great new features that come with every update!

But seriously, iOS 12 has a lot of new features. Tech consumers are just getting spoiled and expect every major update to be completely different from the previous one. What mayhem our world would be in if that happened!

I purposely avoid the betas and don’t take much notice about what’s coming in the new operating systems until they are officially released. I’ve only just this minute watched the video in the first post to have a look at what’s new this time. :D

I like how they are marketing the grouped notifications as a “new” feature. It was there when notifications first came to iOS and they took it out for iOS 10. One of the biggest things that irked me with that release. Glad they are bringing it back, but it is not a new feature. The implementation might be slightly different than before, but the concept remains the same.

Was up to date on the GM last week but just received a carrier update on AT&T USA.
Same here. AT&T 33.1 - maybe that will fix the dropouts some folk were experiencing.

I also have another issue with my AT&T WiFi at home. I use their fiber service with their "mesh" setup. Sometimes my iPhone X is assigned an IP address beginning with 168. - I have to turn WiFi off and then back on, on the phone, to get it to connect to the WiFi. Hmm....

Is anyone else seeing this dialog box in iTunes when they click on the Update button? When I click Install, it responds (after about ten seconds) that the software is not available on the server. The page you are directed to by clicking Learn More... does not really explain anything. And yes, iTunes 12.8. I could not get even this far without updating iTunes.

I was able to initiate the download of iOS 12 directly with my phone. Just the usual iTunes wonkiness, or something else?

Anyone try the new measure app included in ios 12, kinda cool!

Plus, they removed the slight vibrate to tell you apps are all closed, it flashes the screen instead.

Yo
Three attempts, so far the update keeps on failing. The two first times, I would even lose the entire download and would have to start again. Third time, the download stays there but the update flags a lack of space on my iPhone 6s 64Gb. Great, so I do uninstall a couple of apps and data to cover what is needed. And yet, after a long process of trying to install the update, another alert that it didn't work.

Any idea on what is happening and what I can do to fix it?

(another thing: please stop with your "nothing yet" and so on, and the conspiracy theory that MacRumors is released this article before the update is available to you. You are adding no important info. On my side, I could see the update 10 minutes after it was released, which is fine!)
You are not missing out on anything bud. Just wait a little, you will get the update.

I was surprised mine ran so seamlessly considering I was slow on responding to promotes as I was gyming.

Glad I’m not receiving notifications while I drive .... o_O

It takes much longer than my iPhone 7+ update did. Once it finally finished downloading, and preparing, and now verifying...you'd think the watch would be a smaller, faster update.

Fewer resources to work with might result in more steps taken and therefore more time, more data in modules, etc.

I had that, took a while to download and install. Didn't say anything when it was finished. Opened iTunes and was able to upgrade to iOS12 on all devices.

Throughout the whole beta testing experience it's been a buttery-smooth operating system we won't talk about beta 10 but I've loved using it and finally got my hands on the Shortcuts App and absolutely love it!!

iPhone SE updated from 11.4.1.. so far, so good. Tried a few apps, nothing seems to be slower or crashing.. animations are fluid, no frame drops.. I still have to try that Shortcuts thing, but I'm at work now, and I've spent too much time checking the new things and looking for possible bugs.. :D

Halfway through iOS 12 installing, iTunes popped up a dialog box notifying me of the availability of iOS 12. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised by iTunes weirdness anymore, except to wonder why Apple never seems to get that part of the iOS experience right.
