That’s what I was planing to do but will there be a public beta of 13.1 for the iPhone 11? I don’t have the developer beta on my iPhone XS.

same question, will upgrading a stock new iphone to the beta line work to restore a 13.1 beta backup? ...

What would be the problem with enrolling the iPhone in the public beta and then restoring your icloud backup made with 13.1 beta 4 to the new iphone running the same OS (13.1 beta 4)?

I've done it myself, lol. Try it, bub.
Doesn't work for me either.

So i'm not seeing ipws files in the developer portal, maybe they will come later today/tomorrow morning.

The purpose for Apple uploading these today is to support 13.1 testers when they receive their new phones. Just quickly build your new phone, install the beta profile and restore using your backup. No need to wait this year.

depends on the timing. if my new phone comes in Tues and the offical 13.1 is out then, I won't be able to get my old phone on the official 13.1 (it sometimes stays on the final beta even if I remove the profile) so its iffy. I'll either try migrating from old phone or just setup new and transfer data which is time consuming. I wish Apple could fix this limitation on the beta program. It is a nuisance. (YES I know no one is forcing me on the beta)

No. You cannot. There is a workaround, using iTunes. But, you have to do an unencrypted backup. Which means that you lose your Health data, passwords, and something else. There is no way I'm going to risk losing my Health data. Not sure if that would include Activity from the Watch, or not. I'm just not going to risk it.
However, if you don't care about losing that data, search YouTube. There are several videos explaining how.

But as I understand only the developer beta - not public - supports iphone 11.

Ugh! I wasn't paying attention to the headline. Didn't catch the "developer" part. Obviously, meaning not public. I'm in the same boat. Running public beta of 13.1. Hopefully, they release public beta tomorrow.
Actually, I never thought that it would even be an issue installing 13.1 beta on iPhone 11.

Apple today seeded a beta of iOS 13.1 that's designed to work with the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The new beta can be installed over-the-air after installing the proper profile from the Apple Developer Center.

With the new iOS 13.1 beta, the new iPhone models released tomorrow will be able to be updated to iOS 13.1. That will allow beta testers who have already upgraded their prior devices to iOS 13.1 to use an iCloud backup to do a data transfer.

An iPhone backup taken on an iPhone running iOS 13.1 cannot be transferred to an iPhone running iOS 13, which means those who have upgraded will need to also upgrade their new 2019 iPhones before being able to restore from a backup.

iOS 13.1 introduces several features that were announced at WWDC but were removed from iOS 13 over the beta testing period. Shortcuts Automations is back, allowing Shortcuts users to create personal and home automations from the Shortcuts app to have actions performed automatically when specific conditions occur.

Share ETA, a major maps feature, is also available once again in iOS 13.1. With Share ETA, you can share your estimated time of arrival to a location with a friend or family member.

Other new features include new icons on the volume indicator when headphones or speakers are connected (with icons for AirPods, Beats headphones, and HomePod), more detailed HomeKit icons in the Home app, and updates to Dynamic Wallpapers.

Mouse support, an accessibility option in iOS 13, has been improved in iOS 13.1 allowing a long press or 3D Touch to be mapped to the right click function of the mouse. Reading goals now include PDFs, Nike+ is now just Nike, and iOS 13.1 supports HEVC video encoding with alpha channels.

There are some other smaller changes in iOS 13.1, which are outlined in our original iOS 13.1 article. iOS 13.1 is set to launch on Tuesday, September 24.

I think Apple betas are available to all compatible devices, so there was no extra beta for the new ones.

I literally option-clicked update and chose the 13.0 GM IPSW file while running iOS 13.1 b4 on my 6S the other day. Everything remained, including health data. 🤷‍♂️ You do you.

Thanks, in that case did you have to restore a backup for your data and apps or does it downgrade in place?

Not sure I understand your point. The issue is that 3.1 public beta 4 does not seem to run on iphone 11.
Ok. I meant, that it was my understand betas would be be applicable to all compatible devices. Do you know why beta 4 is not compatible for the iPhone 11?

Good news, everyone!

My 11 Pro just arrived (I'm in New Zealand) and the first thing I did was head to the Apple beta website to download the Public Beta profile.

So far so good, it's currently installing iOS 13.1 PB4 (on the 11 Pro). Fingers crossed it'll finish properly without throwing errors (I'm sure it would've stopped by now if the 11 Pro wasn't compatible with PB4) and I can then erase and do the fancy iPhone --> iPhone wireless transfer from my XS (which is on 13.1).

So far so good, my 11 Pro is transferring everything from the ancient XS. Any idea how this thing works? My XS has jumped off my office WiFi network (or so it says) so I'm assuming maybe it uses a combo of Bluetooth & device-to-device WiFi?

Ok confused. For those who have the iOS 13.1 public beta does this mean we will need to download the equivalent public beta onto the iPhone 11 before doing a transfer of backup from iTunes ? And if so how do you do this ?

cant you simply install the backup via itunes directly onto the new phone?

I was able to go from 13.1 to 13 on my XS using Catalina.....and I did by option clicking check for update. And everything went just find and I’m on 13 with no issues and I didn’t have to restore from a backup.
Did you lose anything like photos or whatever was mentioned before ?
