But a lot of people like me still wish to play it safe and wear a mask. So this is big update for us.
Not to mention the countries outside of America where masks are still worn by almost everyone, and where the issue never became political. The vast majority of people I see each day are wearing masks, and are iPhone users too.

Things I noticed about iOS 15.4. Face ID seems to be quicker. Touch registration seems to be fixed. Core animations also seem to be quicker. The whole feels more fluid and super responsive. Will have to see how battery life goes in the next couple of days. So far 15.4 is great.

EDIT: After using my 13 Pro Max for the last day, it appears that the touch registration is still not fixed in iOS 15.4.

Won’t install on Iphone 11 pro, it says no wifi but I am on Wifi for sure…no VPN etc. Have seperated the 2.4 and 5GHz Wifi network by different names, inside the airport configurations of multiple airports through the house. Could that be an issue?

This update is massive.

Wait a minute… I read on this forum that it was impossible to unlock your iPhone with a mask on, so Apple should bring back TouchID!

It was about 1Giga download for my SE2.

Quite disappointed about its storage management.

First of all, the “system data” shown under “iPhone Storage” goes up from 6-7G to 13-14G. What the hell is happening?!

And the storage bug is still there, that is, no way to completely delete the data of the stock app “note” and “reminder”. The data storage of these two apps kept going up since iOS 15, not aligned with that shown in iCloud, and not possible to be removed (deleted both app and data, still shown occupied storage in iPhone storage)

In this Rev, in the iPhone storage exhibits a few “dummy app” that occupied storage, which have not been seen in previous Rev. Again no way to remove these dummy apps.

Anyone shared the same issue?

Attached the screenshot showing the huge system data and the dummy apps.

Take care when upgrading. I had a note that was being drafted, it was a photo that i'm making handwritten notes on, which I closed the ipad (smart cover) when I was done. midway during sleep and charging, the ipad updated itself and majority of my notes were gone. the photo is still in the notes, but the handwritten notes are missing. i can't even save anything on that note now

Still no way to turn off HDR and people with light skin tones get orange/red with iPhone 13. So disappointing Apple! What did you actually mean by the advertising for the better cameras in iPhone 13? Take a look at Apples website and the photos they present there of people taken with the iPhone 13. You see almost only people with darker skin tones and almost no people with light skin tones, why? So, next time Apple promises a better function of something, try it out thoroughly first to see if it matches what it promises.

I love having the vaccination document in Wallet, so I can show it on my Apple Watch as well. Neat.

Thank goodness our province Ontario is dropping the mask mandate next week! So no reason for FaceID unlock with a mask (until the fall when I imagine they will bring them back)

Being able to store a vaccine card/covid pass in the wallet app is kinda neat. I'm in the UK and opened the official National Health Service (NHS) app to view my covid passes as I'm traveling to Qatar on Friday. When I view the covid passes in there, I get the option to "Add to Apple Wallet" which I'd not seen before (I just updated to 15.4 so I guess thats why I'm seeing that option now).

It just means that, after adding them, I can double-click the side button while at the airport and quickly bring up my covid passes for any officials that want to see them. Tip: If you're doing this you need to add each pass separately - so in my case I have three: my two vaccinations, and the booster I had in December.

Oh - and I still wear my mask when in shops, etc. in and around London. I don't care if anyone laughs at me :)
Its been there for a while…
I travelled to France last year and Italy in February this year.

When asked I just showed the NHS QR code in Apple Wallet. Worked perfectly.
Mind you I have no idea if this is a new implementation or different feature. ??‍♂️

Edit: I think this is a new thing for US and Canadians. Their systems were not compatible with the EU Digital Covid Certificates… The NHS Certification was accepted by the EU from the beginning.

Probably just Apple servers being hammered. weird problems sometimes come up when downloading updates on the date of the release.

Personally, I usually just wait until I received an OTA notification. :)

I had the most recent 15.4 beta from last week installed on my Mac, iPad, and Apple TV, and when I went to update they all said "OS is up to date." Did they just decide that last weeks beta was the release version? That's never happened to me before, did it happen to anyone else?

Yes the release candidate from last week is the actual public release.

Could have released face mask detection earlier, almost totally useless at this stage, except maybe if and when the next wave hits!

Still very useful for medical staff, people working in other environments where masks are required, and while I hope/believe the worst is behind us you never know when another pandemic or even local epidemic may come. Better to have this function than not.

Anyone having an issue with the focus on their iPhone 12 Pro Max since updating to 15.4? My screen turns whitish when trying to focus on something close.

Ahhhh interesting - good to know. It's the first time I'd seen the option in the NHS app so didn't know if this was all new and 'activated' since I'd installed 15.4. Anyhow - it seems like it's integrated well, so hopefully I'll get to use it at the airport later this week lol
