That shouldn't be happening. The phone detects if it's in your pocket or face down on a table and will not light up the screen for notifications, etc. I'm not sure how you would fix this if it's not working though, maybe there's a toggle I'm not aware of. You may need to reset to factory settings if there's no specific switch, I don't know. What kind of flickering? The only annoying thing I found is the fact that notifications wake up the screen and often leads to unintended unlock and in worst case unintentional deletion of apps or even email. Ever so often I get my phone out of my pocket to find it with wiggling icons on the home screen or the mail app in state of multi select about to delete a bunch of messages.
My 12 Pro simply installed the update and restarted.Just finished the update and my 12P is scorching hot 🔥. I’ve been trying to cool it down with compressed air and blowing on it like an NES cart. Still hot.
I've seen that too.Let’s hope they fix the GPS crashes on the 14 Pro when using Carplay
It’s terrible yesterday had to restart my phone 3 times while I was on a 6 hour drive.. It’s insane.I've seen that too.![]()
There’s a great video from “the healthy software developer” on YT about the difference between how Scrum is supposed to be done and how it is practiced. These people saying this stuff don't even have a clue. They're just jealous that they chose a profession that can't work from home, or perhaps are actually technology workers but just too lazy or underskilled to leave their in-office employer for one who allows hybrid or remote work.
The poor quality code that has been coming out of shops like Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google in recent years -- even more than two years ago -- is a bigger reflection of Agile and Scrum mentalities being forced on everyone, rather than where somebody is working from.
Traditional software development cycles worked for 30 years, but because "fast" is never fast enough for greedy business leaders, these untested and flawed project management practices are being foisted upon everyone. It's nothing more than an excuse to cut QA out of the picture, lay off testers, and pump code out as fast as the keys lift off of developers' keyboards no matter how buggy it might be at first glance.
This has nothing to do with the battery drain issues.Turn off the always on display, mine is off until they let me adjust the brightness down further or they fix the battery drain, probably both…
Not even close to the worst in history - check the very detailed iOS history thread. VERY informative.Pretty buggy iOS 16 launch with so many hotfixes. Was expecting iOS 16.1 this week.
Wait WHAT!!!!!??Was really hoping for a fix for the display flickering. Seems like the non-ProMotion displays are affected. It's very apparent on my 12 mini and 13 mini when installing app updates. Never see it on the 13 Pro.
Just tried to copy and paste and no notification for me apart from the "pasted from" privacy notice.Oh no, the super annoying permission notifications every single time I want to paste something from the clipboard are back for me :/
I’m hearing no, but some are saying 16.1 beta might.Did this update fix thr battery drain problem? I f…ng hope so!
And the page-turning animation did not make a comeback I suppose.Found a bug with the books app that was not fixed. The books app is listing books as new that are not new and that I have been reading!
First world problem . I still have my Nokia 6230 on the charger….Pretty buggy iOS 16 launch with so many hotfixes. Was expecting iOS 16.1 this week.
"...the bug"?? As if a symptom of this sort could have only one cause. Are they going to fix the bug where the screen goes black and unresponsive, requiring a hard reset? Please?
What problem? My 14 Pro Max has longer battery life than any previous iPhone. Perhaps your battery is defective and needs to be replaced. It's possible. Just think about it. There are more complaints about problems with the 14 than any previous phone. While some are software, I suspect there are a lot of random hardware issues requiring many to replace their phones.Any chance this will fix the battery issue with iPhone 14 Max Pro?
Oh no, Apple will be distraught if you yourself dont update to 16 asap. What will they do?It BETTER work reasonably well. Otherwise, my iPhone 12 will only upgrade when iOS 16.1 releases in a few weeks.
This wouldn't have been the case if you had ordered the iPhone 14 Pro Max, LOL.This broke keyboard dictation for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Did a restart, disabled and then re-enabled, no dice. Cannot dictate in any app.
