AT&T has gotten bad around Cleveland the last couple years. Especially because they don't have any band 5 spectrum, they are pushing a lot of devices using 5G onto a B12 PCC instead of spreading the load across their 15x15 B2 spectrum the way they do for LTE. They also seem to be struggling with backhaul capacity on some towers since they began turning on n77. They could also afford to add some small cells and fill-in sites in congested and weak signal areas in the suburbs the way Verizon has, not just downtown.

I left AT&T early this year due to this and a couple other issues. I'll check in again in 2-3 years. Hopefully they'll get caught up and sort out the capacity issues they're currently struggling with.
That explains it. Also good to know it wasn't just my imagination. I was in the suburbs most of the week and the cell speeds were nothing like I experience in the Nashville area. Add to it that my inlaws don't have the most robust (or fast ) wifi in their house, and I was going crazy. I'm used to Gigabit speeds at home and great/fast cell coverage and speeds.

Apple today released iOS 16.0.3, a minor bug fix update that comes a few weeks after the launch of the iOS 16 operating system. The iOS 16.0.3 update follows iOS 16.0.2, software that addressed a number of launch day bugs on the iPhone 14 models.

The iOS 16.0.3 update can be downloaded on eligible iPhones over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, the iOS 16.0.3 update addresses a number of bugs that iPhone users have run into over the course of the last few weeks. The CarPlay bug caused iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users to experience low volume levels when attempting to make a hands-free phone call in a vehicle. The issue caused the person making the call to sound quiet or far away when speaking, making them difficult to hear.

The camera issue saw some users reporting delays of up to four or five seconds before the Camera app began working after launch in some cases.

There has also been a persistent display flickering issue, which causes some iPhone owners who upgraded to iOS 16 to see flickering in dark spots on the display when the iPhone is at low brightness, but it's unclear whether that issue is addressed in this update.

iOS 16.0.3 will likely be followed by iOS 16.1, which is set to be released alongside iPadOS 16.1 in the near future.

Found a bug with the books app that was not fixed. The books app is listing books as new that are not new and that I have been reading!

Still not appearing when Finder checks for an update, and IPSW.me hasn't published the links yet…anyone else being able to update via methods other than OTA? With these many bugs being addressed, I think I'd rather do a full-image update.

Are they going to fix the bug where the screen goes black and unresponsive, requiring a hard reset? Please?

I got that this morning. I managed to get out of it by putting my iPhone on a MagSafe charger. At that point though I had no Home Screen other than the wall paper. i finally got that back by locking the phone and unlocking it. At that point I discovered it was updating Apps. My guess is somehow it used up all the memory doing that.

Just finished the update and my 12P is scorching hot 🔥. I’ve been trying to cool it down with compressed air and blowing on it like an NES cart. Still hot.
Be very careful. This could be a sign that your battery is about to catch on fire. Don't use that phone. Take it to Apple immediately. Good luck.

This broke keyboard dictation for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Did a restart, disabled and then re-enabled, no dice. Cannot dictate in any app.
Just tested mine. No problem with dictation, so it's not the update. Did you do anything odd during the update?

Perhaps Apple has pulled the update..?

I'd like to see some camera updates for my 14Pro. The pictures seem to me to be much grainier than those taken on my 13P.
My pics look great. Not grainy at all. Don't see any need for an update. Your camera may have broken. Did you drop or abuse your phone?

I've never had that happen to me. Sounds like something is wrong with your phone. Take it to Apple.

If you're talking about the Always On bug where the display brightness turns down then it's a simple fix but no idea if Apple fixed it in this update.

I agree though if your display is just randomly turning off then check the iPhone Analytics for a possible crashing issue and/or take the phone to an Apple store.

Ugh forget the damn 14 and fix the billion iPhones still out there. If it was this unfinished they should have pushed back the release.

I’m still having problems with touches not registering, siri suggestions not showing up, and tons of other little things.

Edit again: nevermind, still just as buggy. Little to no improvements for phones other than the 14

Does this fix the Siri bug? It it goes “still working on it” and then “there was a problem please try again” which occurs with any Siri command. It started last week for me on my 12, and it seems from reading comments online that I’m not the only person affected

EDIT: it doesn’t. This bug is a huge pain especially in the car

I notice one of the bugs this update allegedly addresses is "Mail crashes on launch after receiving malformed email."
While I have not seen that one, I have been experiencing a Mail bug since at least iOS 14.

I Lauch Mail. Tap an email in my Inbox. If that message contains a link, tapping that will auto-launch my browser of choice (Safari). So far, this is all expected behavior. When I hop back to Mail, that same email is still open - as expected. I exit out to my Inbox, close Mail. Everything is fine. But here's where it gets weird... The next time I open Mail, it auto-opens to the last email that auto-launched out to Safari, as opposed to opening in my Inbox. Super annoying. And 100% repeatable.

At this point, any attention paid Mail is OK by me. While not holding my breath, maybe this tweak will magically address this issue? Probably not. I'm staring at my Apple progress bar on my 14 Pro. Once installed, it will be the first thing I try.
