I wish there was a way to completely mute vocals with Sing. It should theoretically be possible with Dolby Atmos tracks because all they would have to do is mute the vocal stem. But I realize non-Dolby atmos tracks don't have the stems, so it would be difficult.

On the bright side, it's very easy to make your own instrumentals of Dolby Atmos tracks.

I do not see Track Detection in the notes for Watch OS 9.2. I wonder if that's been included in this general released version.

Excellent. I just updated my iPad but I’m not seeing any notification about the update to the Home app requiring all devices to be upgraded. Did the Home app update get removed from the initial 16.2 release?

*Edit*

HomePods need to be updated first.

I think Apple purposely delayed the release until today just to throw you off.

Still can’t enable advanced data protection, I get the error “something went wrong, try again later.” I had to remove iCloud from my PC, which I did and I have a recovery key setup. Not sure what the issue is but it happens on both my phone and iPad.

Downloading with a silly grin!

No way am I doing the Karaoke thing, though.

Unless I am drunk, then Neil Diamond songs ALL NIGHT.

Oooh don't worry XMas is coming up really fast so the likelihood of this happening is a much higher percentage than what you initially would think. Choose an adult beverage that is tasty yet will not destroy your wind pipes. Sing it up ;)

Im really looking forward to seeing all the external display supported iPad setups!

I have been using mine as a MacBook replacement since iPadOS 16 beta 2 and I have been loving it.

Really curious what people will build with these new possibilities.

Apple today released iOS 16.2, the second major update to the iOS 16 operating system that came out in September. iOS 16.2 comes more than a month after the launch of iOS 16.1, an update that added support for Live Activities, Matter, iCloud Shared Photo Library, and more.

The ‌iOS 16‌.2 update Apple's can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. It can take a few minutes for the updates to propagate to all users due to high demand. Note that Apple has also released iOS 15.7.2 for iPhone users who have older devices, with the update offering security improvements.

Today's iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 updates bring several notable features to iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, including the Freeform app, which is a sort of digital whiteboard that you can use for anything, while also working collaboratively with friends and colleagues.

It includes the Apple Music karaoke feature called "Sing," it introduces Advanced Data Protection for end-to-end encryption for more iCloud features, plus more. On the iPad, the update brings support for external displays on M1 and M2 iPads.

Apple's full release notes for the iOS update are below:

Apple also has some iPad specific notes:

Following the launch of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, Apple may soon seed out the first betas of iOS 16.3 and iPadOS 16.3, giving us a look at new features that we can expect to see in the new year.

Yes!!!! The apple books bug has been fixed at least on the iPad.

But the real question is: will I be able to again use an external display on my 4th gen when not using Stage Manager?
