Apple today released iOS 16.4.1, a minor update to the iOS 16 operating system that first came out last September. iOS 16.4.1 is a bug fix update that comes almost two weeks after the launch of iOS 16.4, an update that introduced new Emoji, Safari Web Push notifications, Voice Isolation for phone calls, and more.

‌iOS 16‌‌.4.1 can be downloaded on eligible iPhones over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 16.4.1 add a fix for an issue that could cause Siri not to respond in some cases, and it adds skin tones variations for the pushing hands emoji.
This update provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone including:

- Pushing hands emoji does not show skin tone variations
- Siri does not respond in some cases
Apple is already testing iOS 16.5, a follow up to iOS 16, and the company will soon transition to working on iOS 17, the next-generation version of iOS that is expected to see an introduction at WWDC in June.

Are they gonna fix HomeKit? It's still broken for me. I am spending this weekend starting over from scratch because my basement TV now gets turned on if I ask to turn on my third story bedroom.

Half my kitchen lights are labeled correctly as Kitchen, but turn on when I ask to turn on the Den.

HomeKit can't make up its mind if I have an Ecobee thermostat or not, despite the thermostat being in Home App. Asking Siri five times to change the temperature is annoying, and even more frustrating is having to take five minutes to go up and down the stairs to manually change the temp. Not something a cripple wants to have to do after spending money on smart devices for convenience. It's annoying to have to crutch up and down the stairs. The Home App won't let me change anything, I'll set it to 64 H and it'll not change anything. Ecobee App crashes when I open it, working on that with Ecobee.

Also, I do not have an Automation for arriving home, but I get a random Billboard Top 20 that plays whenever I get home.
Not only do I not like Taylor Swift, I would use her CDs at a skeet shoot.

And lastly, Siri keeps asking me to unlock my iPhone again to tell me what time it is, or what the weather is. I'm not asking for much here, folks.

I feel for you. I have just about given up on Siri to control my smart devices. The devices are smart but Siri and HomeKit are just plain dumb! I’m so tired of going from version to version in hopes that it will get better. Unfortunately, it seems to be trending to the worse! At this point, I would settle for Apple fixing the long connection delays when I answer a phone call with my Airpods Pro 2 on my iPhone 14 Pro. The “hello, helloooo? Are you there? Hello, hello, oh there you are” gets old and happens every.single.time. The other caller is usually like “WTF Bro??” Friends make fun of me. Clients are less than impressed. Apple, get your sh*t together!!! I’m tired of making excuses for your problematic hardware/software.

And Steve remains in a continuous state of rolling in his grave. Thanks, $Tim.

"...the company will soon transition to working on iOS 17."

Apple has been working on that.

It's here finally. Maybe it will help against weather app, battery draining some mentioned and the home app issues. Try it and tell us.

I have two devices on 15.7.1, I think, a 6s and older ipad... Anyway, there is the same problem on iOS 15 devices.

You're having so many issues with HomeKit because you don't like Taylor Swift.
