I feel for you. I have just about given up on Siri to control my smart devices. The devices are smart but Siri and HomeKit are just plain dumb! I’m so tired of going from version to version in hopes that it will get better. Unfortunately, it seems to be trending to the worse! At this point, I would settle for Apple fixing the long connection delays when I answer a phone call with my Airpods Pro 2 on my iPhone 14 Pro. The “hello, helloooo? Are you there? Hello, hello, oh there you are” gets old and happens every.single.time. The other caller is usually like “WTF Bro??” Friends make fun of me. Clients are less than impressed. Apple, get your sh*t together!!! I’m tired of making excuses for your problematic hardware/software.
Oh, don't get me started on Airpods Any.

Connects to Laptop, my HomePods, my car, etc even though the things ARE IN MY EAR. (And I have other device calls turned off)

Not a problem until iOS 15 when suddenly nope, had to be difficult.

I exist about 99% in the Apple ecosystem, but have been reluctant to dive into HomeKit for smart home features because of these reported problems. And Siri seems to have about 50% of the IQ of Alexa.

Maybe Alexa had more of unknowingly stolen information from users all over the world that help to raise her IQ level
Don't want to hijack the thread, but not sure what you mean and willing to learn. When I ask Alexa a question, the answer is usually something like "According to XYZsource, ..." a source I could have freely accessed if I had known where to look.

Does it fix Instagram stories being mute in Silent mode even when turning up the volume button manually?
omg i had this issue today and was trying to fix it by closing out the app, logging in and out, restarting, tapping on screen. then i checked other apps and was getting audio. also noticed by battery was draining really fast. did not know these were known bugs until i checked this thread out today. also had the siri stall issue.

What an absolutely useless update. There's random ui glitches everyday, wifi keeps dropping regularly and this is what they decide to fix.

It's shocking to me that I'm way more satisfied with my andriod device, which has zero bugs on andriod 13, and is only running a .1 update.

I've been in the Apple eco system for about 14-15 years now and until about 5-6 years ago, I'd never have thought that Apple would ever be so pathetic.

Are they gonna fix HomeKit?
We can dream, just started to use it, was fine before we updated to 16.?, now its totally useless. Can't add people to the home, can only have 1 device using a smart plug etc. Now they have deemed you need an Apple TV or a HomePod/Mini to be a hub for total control.

What a way to make it far more exspensive than it needs to be. It's bad enough Homekit enabled devices cost more anyway.

Did they really fix a emoji bug over major bugs

This is the current state of Apple. :)

That sounds like a feature, not a bug... adding that damn skin tone selector when NONE of us have yellow skin is so annoying. And they ask for each new one... as if my tone changed from last time. Such a lame emoji feature (I know its not an Apple choice to add it to UNICODE).

Kinda makes you wonder why Apple doesn’t allow the user (or prompt during iOS setup/data transfer/restore) the option to select their default skin tone?! That would be so much simpler wouldn’t it?!
