I'm a software developer myself and it took me just an extra second to figure it out. As soon as I noticed that tapping on the white space acts like a long press my next thought was to tap on the icon itself. And it worked!

Some people are intuitive to some things. I like messing around so I got lucky with this one. Still think you have to be a genius to get around macOS System Settings though.

If that's a result of the OS update, don't worry. It will cool down soon enough. Phones do a lot of background work for a while after an update that generates heat.

No, it used to be that when you tap the tile it turned the device off or on. Long press was taking you into the dimmer and other settings. (Logical)

Now you have to use the Apple Pencil to precisely tap on the small icon.

In iOS 17 they will design icons with the switch and you’ll have to use a magnifier lens to find the switch and tap exactly that spot.
Ah the innovation.

The list of improvements and updates is hugely impressive. We're lightyears ahead of Android at this point, and I share Gruber's take that Google is losing interest in this stuff.

Anyone else not seeing iOS 16 update? We have 3 iPhones in the family. Two iPhone 12’s and one iPhone 11. The update showed up for the 12’s but for some reason only the 15.7 update showed on the iphone 11. I updated to 15.7 and now that phone showed that it is up to date on 15.7. I’ve scrolled to the bottom and I’m not seeing iOS 16.

Omg it’s so buggy! Safari became unresponsive twice when trying to fix a typo when writing this comment. Opened notes to write it there instead but notes UX was unresponsive. Cursor was flashing but couldn’t use any of the UX. In Health app, can’t type the name of medication to add. In Messages, the bottom section of icons and box where you type the message was gone so couldn’t type the message or even show the keyboard. Posting this real quick before it crashes on me again! Hope a restart will fix it but that’s so bad! Oh and Bumble wouldn’t let me open a message from a match either. Tried several times but it becomes unresponsive as I got to the new message. Thanks Apple 😂 I shall stay single 😂

This got to be the worst day of my life!!!
The update has ruined my iPhone!! After installing, my iPhone got stuck in logo mode, and I tried to re-update through my Mac, and it still doesn't work. It says I need to factory reset, meaning I'll loose everything!!! I can't believe this is coming from Apple!!!! 2 years of pictures lost. I'm freaking heartbroken about this. **** ios16

My 14 Pro comes on Friday. I regret ordering it so soon because I normally wait until .0.1 or .1 update to the new OS. Should I hope they issue a minor update by Thursday, or just bite the bullet now? I'd rather do a iOS 16 - 16 New device transfer than a iOS 15 - 16 transfer....

Update went pretty smoothly today, all things considered.

2.30 am - wake up, download update on iPhone, go back to sleep.
4.30 am - after iOS 16 is installed, download and install watchOS 9.
5 am - alarm goes off, before I go wash up, realise there’s also iOS 15.7 for my iPad. Also install tvOS on my two Apple TVs. The Mac can wait.

Also update the 20+ apps outstanding while I am at it.

Now walking to work.

I love it when a plan comes together.
