Not really. You can go from an older version of iOS to a newer one, just not the other way around, if I understand it correctly.I assume we still need to update new phone to 17.0.2 to copy data from old phone to new 15

That by any chance an iPad? My iPad Pro (2nd gen 11") has been warm every morning after charging and in one day of sleep uses almost 30% doing nothing. My battery has been already crippled with 17.0.1, so i guess this wont hurt? Or it will? 😂
Nope, 12 mini. That by any chance an iPad? My iPad Pro (2nd gen 11") has been warm every morning after charging and in one day of sleep uses almost 30% doing nothing.
What about my broken car Bluetooth which broke when iOS 17 was publicly released?
Apple today released iOS 17.0.2 and iPadOS 17.0.2 updates, with the software coming five days after the releases of iOS 17.0.1 and iPadOS 17.0.1.

Today's iOS 17.0.2 and iPadOS 17.0.2 updates arrive as build 21A351 and can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Note that iOS 17.0.2 was previously made available for iPhone 15 owners, and those who purchased an iPhone 15 were prompted to install the update during the iPhone setup process.
Apple has now made iOS 17.0.2 available for all iPhones compatible with iOS 17 instead of limiting it to the iPhone 15, but iPhone 15 users already have the software and will not see the update.
According to Apple's release notes, iOS 17.0.2 fixes an issue that could prevent transferring data directly from another iPhone during setup, an issue that affected the iPhone 15 models. The iPad release notes are the same, but mention transferring from another iPad.

absolutely doesn't make any sense especially if 17.0.3 is actually coming soonwhat i don't get is why was 17.0.2 released only on iphone 15's last week only to be released to all other devices a week later? what is the reason it was limited to iphone 15 hardware only for a week?
when it happened it seemed that 17.0.2 had iphone15-specific code in it, which is fine, and any future hw-wide releases would be versioned 17.0.3+. why bring 17.0.2 to older hw a week later like this?
Made my day, mate. Cheers. AhhahaahhahahaAt this rate I will be updating my phone more than Im charging it.![]()
No, it just feels like way more than usual. I am totally ok with it!Do you mean that this is too many updates in the first fortnight?
Might as well wait for 17.0.3 next week
at this rate i will be updating my phone more than i'm having sex with my wife! 😅At this rate I will be updating my phone more than Im charging it.![]()
Not for iPhone 12 Pro Max yet. Still staying at 17.0, no betas being offered yet.
By much? I created a thread about updating to iOS 17 and if people noticed a reduced battery life (albeit specific to the 13 Mini):My battery has been already crippled with 17.0.1, so i guess this wont hurt? Or it will? 😂
Yeah, it drains much faster. Just wrote in your thread.By much? I created a thread about updating to iOS 17 and if people noticed a reduced battery life (albeit specific to the 13 Mini):
Hopefully it settles down and you get the screen time that you had on iOS16.
mine are all still there and working. My other beef with iOS 17? The ringtones I saved to my phone disappeared.
who said anything about mended? So that’s one mistake admitted and mended, hopefully. good job👍🏻
Maybe the reason the iPhone Pro 15s got the stop charging at 80 percent capacity is precisely because of them running a little hot…
High state of charge and elevated temps are deleterious for battery health
very interesting
I am sure you meant that as sarcasm. Clearly you must know that they have very large teams devoted to testing and QA.Well people need to realise is Apple don't really do internal testing they do is it good enough to get money for it testing that is the problem there's loads of bug fixes that they know about but they don't push them out they just basically wait around for weeks and weeks and weeks until enough people complain about it and then they'll push the bug fix out they've got basically lazy software developers who are more interested in pushing out snoopy faces and they aren't actually releasing potential bug fixes for serious issues Apple deserves to be smacked over the head with this release, I hope the sales of these devices tank and that people finally wake up to the fact that this is a company that doesn't have their best interest at heart, Apple changes its leadership and corporate panel they never gonna change their way of doing things, this is a company that constantly rewarded for failure.
I think the reason for the 80% cap is that many people requested it.Maybe the reason the iPhone Pro 15s got the stop charging at 80 percent capacity is precisely because of them running a little hot…
High state of charge and elevated temps are deleterious for battery health
very interesting indeed.
On a phone that hadn't yet been released?I think the reason for the 80% cap is that many people requested it.
Then explain the butterfly keyboard disaster. It was one of apples biggest engineering fails of recent times.I am sure you meant that as sarcasm. Clearly you must know that they have very large teams devoted to testing and QA.
