Everyone here is focusing on Geekbench tests, not charging speed? The phones get hot mostly when they are charging. Would be curious to see if they simply reduced the charging speed (I would not like this at all, don’t mind if phone gets warm when I need it to charge as quickly as possible).

So in reading this thread, basically the update didn't really help. screw you Apple.

Before 14 day return policy is up, you be like this to the Apple Store with iPhone in hand:

We need tests on throttling behavior over 10 or 20 minutes. A single GB run won't affect performance because it doesn't get hot enough in such a short period

Has anyone tried to ascertain why some models overheat and some dont? I have a natural titanium 256GB pro with no issues whatsoever. A friend has black pro 512GB with severe issues. I updated via phone-to-phone, friend updated via icloud. We both have all the Meta apps but obviously not the same amount of photos and not all apps are the same. If this was a legit software bug (and not a bad batch of cpu) I think it would be more widespread.
I don't want to say the obvious because it has been said many times, but Apple has lost its mojo without Steve. An easy answer would be to blame apps, but in reality, Apple has lost the "it just works" tagline slowly over time and now we see the results of working from home and excessive focus on recycling.

Tim Apple is great, at managing inventory, but Steve wouldn't have allowed poor iOS quality, a barrage of bugs, and falling behind Pixel on AI and photo editing stuff.

Are you going to install the update? My 15pro has been running cool. Not sure I want to upset the cart.
of course. all done.

I did find that the 15 got a little warm under certain situation but never burning hot and never hot enough for the phone to shut down.

Yay now I can continue having the same cool to touch phone and excellent battery life that I've had since release, since I don't use problematic apps to begin with lol!

Steve Jobs allowed plenty of bugs in his time. Who here remembers how slow and terrible those early versions of OS X were? Or itunes updates that wiped home folders? Or shoddly quality of MobileMe/the entirety of Apples cloud services before iCloud?

Too little too late, iPhone return window is only 14 days and I am traveling so there is no time to be playing around with such nonsense at this late stage. Looks like 14 Pro Max is it for me. Good riddance. It should not have taken this long for this update to arrive when their brand new flagship device is this problematic.
so long. Enjoy your other world

Warning guys: Apple is enabling ALL location services after this update...again!

BS privacy talk...and making it hot again due to this.

These settings were always off. All of a sudden I see Significant locations turned on with these updates and even three location that were registered WHILE it was never turned on on those days.

Does this mean Apple is secretly still recording locations while it is turned off?

How is it possible three locations on three days appear listed?
Just checked. Mine is still off

my iPhone 15 Plus is CRAZY hot right now after the update. The irony

I'm not installing it. My 15PM is perfect. Great battery, no overheating.

You guys should swap phones or something.

I had no issues with my 15PM. I did install the update and still no issues. I don’t know what’s causing the problem, but whatever it is I’m not doing it…

But on hardware? "You're holding it wrong."

Jobs is dead. We need to get over it.

What's with the stupid fixation on IC's while there are managers and VP's that allow this to go out?
But, but they used titanium from Mars and they recycle Tim Apple's candy wraps, so why do you distort reality with a painfully obvious question?

Maybe some of you guys who've been here for years can chime in but... it sure seems like there's way too many updates these days compared to ten years ago. Seems like every few days, there is a reported issue, then I have to sit through another update. And another, and another, and another and... it's just out of control.
Also a lot more people with iPhones. Software has become more complex since then, as well.

No different than any software and always been that way. Really no biggie that some say it is.
