maybe I am an idiot.... well i am definitely an idiot but when is it useful? I don't understand
I tried installing it as an upgrade with iTunes 10.0.1 on Windows but it just got stuck on "Verifying Update with Apple"
Downloading and testing my apps now.

Isn't winter just around the corner for Northerners and Summer for southerners? And didn't he say the update would be just in time for summer (i.e. December)? Really, I can't understand why this isn't obvious.
New icon for AirPlay, and if you swipe in the multitasking bad twice to the left you get a volume slider that works with AirPlay, or just the iPod app, and an AirPlay device selector...

That's good to know. I posted a question about the issue after betas 2 and 3 were released but I never got a reply. I'll install it tonight.
I think I remember Apple saying that the Apple TV will get an update in November to support 4.2.

This version seems very very stable and polished. Before mail behaved a little buggy but now it feels really smooth and "snappy".
Same here. The update itself seems to work fine with 10.0.0 however the restore process asks for 10.0.1. Restore continues ok after upgrading to 10.0.1 iTunes.
I find it useful when using the iPad while lying down as it will keep switching to portrait orientation.
I updated my iPad and it updated the firmware fine on 10.0.1 but said I needed 10.1 once the iPad came back online and tried to do a restore.
