Anyone else notice the Facebook app no longer works...just says after a while Connection Error. This is on both my iPad 3 and iPhone 4. I deleted and reinstalled the app on the iPad but it made no difference.

Can't wait until they allow us to download these updates over 3G... It's not really OTA until they do.

My iTunes just downloaded 800mb for this update. Why anyone would want to do that to their data plan I'm not quite sure.

If it was < 100mb then it would make sense.

Works fine for me

Anyone notice any change in the battery indicator? My iPad was at 88% but after doing this update, it now reads at 99%? Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
I did, when it started to D/L. my battery indicated 72%, when it came back after installing, I was at 73%. WooHoo, free electricity. ;)

I downloaded straight to my device, it was only 50 megs.

Thats 50+ MB file that can count against someone with a data cap. Almost everyone is in a wifi spot and it puts less strain on the networks.

Like I said before, I can go into iTunes right now on my iPhone and download over a gigabyte of music. It's my data, I pay for it, let me download what I want. If it's over the 3GB I pay for, they can charge me extra. Not sure where you're coming from here.

i'm not having those problems.

iTunes downloads the full package, not the OTA delta. ;)

My 3GS says the 5.1.1 package size is 40.6MB and requires a WiFi connection to download.

Facebook never worked, I see no change. All joking aside though, I am not getting those errors.

Wow this update just made my 4g iPod Touch a ton more responsive. Looks like they lowered the amount of memory it reserved for the OS.

yes, but that gigabyte of music is made up of made files of approx 5Mb (dependant on song length, etc obviously). it's the same rule that applies to apps, there's a size limit for any 1 file.

Invisible playlists

Still not fixed.

If you use Smart Playlists with a Date Modified field, you can't see your music list.

You can see it as it syncs, and if you turn it sideways to landscape Cover Flow.

This happened with iOS5, starting with the 4S.

After reporting it 3 times since, an email to Tim Cook prompted them to call me, and they finally acknowledged it directly.

The official response (after 5 months) is that it isn't iOS Music, but iTunes 10.5.1+, which defies logic. In any case, "the engineers are aware of this issue", which can easily be fixed, but they are deliberately holding back for some reason, which I believe is related to iTunes Match BETA, which also won't display the smart playlist.

Home Sharing is another matter altogether.

It just DOESN'T work anymore, as Steve would have it.
Well, the 4 different time clock servers for iCal, iOS, OSX, iCloud/MobileMe were always stuffed when it came to sync all such services with Daylight savings.

NOT being able to see the music you synced or matched, belies the point of the ipod.

:apple: Back to basics please! :(

Unfortunately, we have no idea "why". It was not in 5.0, but then it was back in the 5.1 betas, but then disappeared again in 5.1 final. We know they "can" do it because it worked fine in those betas. And most if not all of the international carriers support it. I started a thread some time back trying to figure it out and we discovered it was basically just the 4S on AT&T that lacked it. Very very strange, and horrible for me personally. :(

It is because the iPhone 4S on AT&T is not "3G" it is "4G" :p
