I just started getting this error today! Prior to today, I have been able to sync via USB or WIFI without issue. Today however, my phone would not sync at all via either method. I tried rebooting the phone and that fixed the problem, but I suspect it may rear it's ugly head again.

Hmm. A reboot didn't fix it for me. Although my sync does work when plugged in, as before I realized I only had the end plugged into my phone and not computer... whoops.

Doubt it as alot of apps use 2-3 finger gestures and 4 fingers wouldn't really work so well on the iPhone which is probably why they limited it to iPad.
Four-finger swipe on ipad does that already.

In a developer build of iOS 4.3, the multitouch four-fingered functions on iPad were also enabled in the iPhone build. For some inexplicable reason, they took this out of the final iOS 4.3 build and now the only way to get the gestures back on the iphone is to jailbreak it and re-enable them using RedSn0w or Snobreeze (among others).

I have no idea why these aren't normally available on the settings menu, as they really do function perfectly and are incredibly useful. four finger pinch to show the springboard is particularly useful and totally practical on the iphone, so im very disappointed to learn that multitasking gestures dont appear to be a part of the iphone's feature set in iOS 5. it seems silly to have to jailbreak your device to re-enable what apple inexplicably disabled. four finger swipe to switch between apps is also FAR faster then the double click task bar silliness that they seem to be sticking too.

They stuffed up the symmetry of the Music app. Beta 2 introduced the alphabet search on the right which makes the app look A LOT crapper :(

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/9A5248d Safari/6533.18.5)

not sure if this is happens for you guys, but when I watch videos in Twitter or safari, I can't access the controls (exit, volume, play, etc). to get out of the video i have to delete safari from the multitasking tray, open it back up, and hit my bookmarks really quick so that it doesn't go back into the video. really annoying.

Same thing i noticed is happening in emails. The email controls disappear so you can't delete or whatever.

Looks like the Reader option in Safari is improved in Beta 2.
Beta 1 rendered only the first page of multi-page articles but Beta 2 grabs and renders all the pages.

that seems to happen sometimes if you are on the lock screen and there is an email notification - when you unlock you jump automatically into email, and some controls are missing sometimes.

Are there really? i can't think of any iPhone app I have that does anything with 3 fingers. Now that I've tried it, I can see that that's practically the width of the screen, and I have very average-sized hands. So I can see the complications there. But I don't even have an app that uses a 2-finger swipe for anything, so just thought it was possible.

SMS Show Preview

Strange bug I'm seeing. I have show preview disabled, but when my girlfriend sends me a message, it shows the message in the lockscreen. Every other message I get, just shows the standard (insert person's name) - text message alert. Any of you guys seeing this happen to you?

Instead of exiting out of the app fully just pinch the screen (like you're zooming out) and it will exit the video. Works in Safari and Tweetdeck for me. :)

here are my experiences so far with ios 5 beta 2

safari crashes 85% of the time
bluetooth sync does not work with my car
imessage is blank for a while 5-8 seconds before it displays messages
pandora is unsuable for me at least

on a plus side i really like os5 but still feel like it is the same old oS with just a few revisions that should have always been there

why is the speaker phone still so quiet. apps are so loud i have to turn them down but i can t even hear the speakerphone in my office with AC on.... that has ALWAYS bothered me about iphone and its not a hardware issue!!!!!!

This happened to me at first but it fixed itself after a few days some how.

Atomic browser and fruit ninja off the top of my head.

Anyone found a solution for those of us who are unable to paste into web fields in Safari? There have been some reports of it not being a problem on some people's devices, but both on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4, running iOS 5b2, I cannot paste into any fields in Safari or any other web browser I can find :(

Makes the web really painful to use... I understand it's only a Beta, but was thinking someone else may have found a fix :)

Is it just me or that Dropbox's upload functionality always crashes the program with iOS5 Beta 2?

I've had occasional but unreliable luck switching safari tabs and back.

Anyone having major issues with photos.app? Sometimes, I'll click on a photo, and the photo I clicked on shows for a second, then it switches to an entirely different photo! That's about my biggest bug right now, with safari pasting and video controls a close second.

I've had this happen, too. It shows a preview of the wrong photo (generally a deleted one), and when I click on it, it shows the wrong one then flips to the right one. Very strange.

I totally agree, it's MUCH faster, much easier, much more natural and just plain more efficient. Also, if your phone is charging or resting loosely somewhere or on a device/dock, a lot of times pushing the home button can loosen the connection and **** things up so an impact-less swipe/finger gesture to go between apps and reach home is not just useful, but necessary in my opinion. A lot of times I just use the notification center simply so I don't have to mess with the home button.

If we all go to apple.com/feedback and request this, it will greatly improve our chances of getting this functionality in the final build!

Your thumb is not next to your other fingers. It's under them. Three fingers and a thumb are very easily fit onto an iPhone screen, especially for the pinch out to home gesture.

Trying to do the 3 fingers and thumb in an area the size of the iPhone screen on the iPad and it doesnt really work. The iPhone is just not big enough to do that gesture properly. Especially for those with big hands.

Hi guys,

Haven't found anything against using it on a 3GS, but any with info on performance on 3GS?

Plus 2 mote questions:
- My iPhone dev account is due to expire and since I haven't used it at all in the last 2 years (2 kids...), I don't intend on renewing. So, will I be able to still install the next betas with the direct link to the IPSW file? (well, I could probably add my UDID to one of my companies other projects iPhone dev accounts).

- Does iTunes 10.5b2 work well with a 3GS on 4.3.3 (the wife's).

Yes, I know I don't have to install it and shouldn't really use it for everyday use since I don't develop on iOS these days, but I do suffer from the Compulsive Update Syndrome... :D

Thanks!

To answer my own questions:

1) Don't care since I renewed my account. So my UDID will remain registered

2) Yes, you can update a 4.3.3 device.

I love it so far. Even if not developing, it is quite usable for my everyday needs.

You know what would be a great feature? If when an iMessage comes in instead of seeing that ugly green icon you see the photo that is connected to that persons profile.

If you can do that with phone calls why can't you do it for notifications?
