i had that, i got round it by going to the main apps library and dragging the ones i wanted to the device as the app screen on the device in iTunes was hell.

Dunno what apple did but they're trying to screw over us windows users in beta 2! between that and holding out on wifi sync! grrr:mad:

thanks... didn't know you could do that!

another question... phone number is showing up in the notification lock screen instead of the name of the contact. Don't recall that in beta 1???

I didn't ever find this in iOS 5 Beta 1, but found it in iOS 5 Beta 2.

You can pull down Notification Center in Landscape mode. Is this new?

LOL. I just tried that, and it got "stuck" about 3/4 down. I had to tap the power button twice and re-unlock to get rid of it.

Yes it has been buggy for me too. I found it when I opened Camera from lock screen, even though my phone was in Portrait camera was stuck in Landscape, and as I swiped from video to still mode it brought it down, got stuck and I had to turn it off and back on. Complete accident in finding it, but I don't remember being able to do that in Beta 1.

I updated phone and Itunes to beta 2. Having difficulty scrolling through apps in itunes when attempting to add apps to iphone... everything just locks up. Using windows 7 and have installed/uninstalled both several times. Any help? And no, im not a dev.

I had the same problem. I just added the larger apps (like Navigon) and then downloaded the smaller ones right on my iPhone instead. The purchased app list helped tremendously here.

Everything has been working flawlessly since I upgraded, except one thing. My phone is constantly prompting me to enter my apple id and password to retrieve purchases. Is this a setting I have wrong somewhere?

Mine was doing that because when I restored from backup after going from beta 1 to beta 2, I had some apps on my phone that are no longer in the app store (like VLC Media Player). When I would start the phone, it would give me the prompt, and I would enter my password and my phone would attempt to download the apps from the cloud, but it would always fail. I would try going into the app store>updates>purchased apps, but those apps wouldn't even show up there. Finally after I did an iTunes sync on my computer did the apps actually reinstall and now the prompt isn't coming up anymore.

Is anybody else noticing that backing up on iOS 5 b2 fails? It usually says something along the lines of "cannot start a session with the iPhone" but then it syncs like usual.

Wait a sec Apple. Before you release iOS 5, please implement the multi-tasking ease coming with Lion into iOS 5. I think doing something like a 2 or 3-finger swipe across the screen to switch between running apps would be a great feature. This would make my constant simultaneous use of iPod and Maps while traveling much more seamless. If this is something likely or known to happen, please inform me. If you agree with this idea, help make it viral. I couldn't find a thread along the lines of, "what we want in iOS 5," on here. If there is one could someone share a link?

Four-finger swipe on ipad does that already.

I get that too if I don't have the phone unlocked when I start the sync.

that's interesting. I tried syncing it while it's unlocked and I didn't get any error messages, but the backups on iTunes still say it's from 6/25.

YES!! I have been hoping they implement this.

Doubt it as alot of apps use 2-3 finger gestures and 4 fingers wouldn't really work so well on the iPhone which is probably why they limited it to iPad.

There's a possibility once the 4-incher is released on September 22nd.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_8 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E401 Safari/6533.18.5)

I'm not honestly sure 4 inches is needed. I've had the thunderbolt, droid x, galaxy phones, and everytime when I come back to the iPhone it certainly doesn't feel small.

Anyone else having a problem syncing? Wifi or plugged in I get the error "The required file cannot be found" every time...

I sure would like to see a multiflow-like program switcher- i have rally gotten used to swiping across the top bar of the screen to show all the running to just tap on them to switch programs. I highly recommend people check this out.

Does anyone have a screen-captured video of the new notification center working? I am not sure I want to install the iOS 5 beta...

iPod/iTunes Music remembers position bug

Anyone else having an issue where the songs start from the middle if you've previously heard only half a song and then skipped it? I tried removing "Remember Position" from iTunes but it still doesn't fix it.

I just started getting this error today! Prior to today, I have been able to sync via USB or WIFI without issue. Today however, my phone would not sync at all via either method. I tried rebooting the phone and that fixed the problem, but I suspect it may rear it's ugly head again.

So far with this beta I have not had to restart daily like the last one. So since Friday till yesterday I had not rebooted the phone. But yesterday I had to because just randomly my call list just showed numbers and not contacts like normal. A reboot corrected that though.
