Apple Releases iOS 5 with Notification Center, iMessage, Twitter, and More

iTunes says my iPod (4G) isn't eligible for the update when I try to install it. This is my first major iOS upgrade I've done on a jailbroken device. Do you have to restore it to a non-jailbroken state before upgrading to iOS 5?
 
Would you people cancel your downloads as you're clogging the servers ... I'm trying to update my phone and it's kind of urgent :D

As someone said before, I don't think the checksums will match because the GM didn't have the installer stuff included. Also someone mentioned that the size of the public release was bigger than the GM which seems to indicate this.

The public release is smaller than the gm.

just over 7 hrs...

not as bad as others buuuut...

oh this is gonna take forever :/

Than I'll stick w/ the iTunes way. Don't want to brick any of my devices. Thanks for the tip.
 
My downloads have slowed down a little, but considering that my little girl is watching Drake and Josh on Netflix, I can't complain. LOL - ok I'm watching it too..:rolleyes:

Also anybody not able to get things to load in newstand or move the newstand app into a folder?
 
Mine was downloading and at 534.3MB and then bam it cancelled the download for some reason :( starting all over again.
 
I hope this is different from the GM.

The iOS5 GM has been the most buggiest GM I have ever loaded (and I think I have tried them all).

Nothing major but if I want to go into mail, music, or the app store, I prepare to get kicked out the first time, every time.
 
It would be really awesome if you guys could stop downloading until my download has finished. Thanks! :D
