You need to use tinyumbrella to uncheck "set hosts to cydia" exit. and restart iTunes. it worked for me on my bad esn verizon iPhone.

see my above post.

Does this apply to iPods too? I've never used TinyUmbrella, I got the impression it was more of an iPod thing. Is it possible to do through redsn0w?

Love it love it love it

Did I mention, LOVE IT? Updates are like Christmas. Only issue I have is that with no google sync support to iCloud it's either use google for contacts across devices or use iCloud. Guess I'll have to sell my tbolt and get an iPhone. heh Upgrade much? Can't wait to dig into the updates, so, I won't.

I cancelled my update 250mb by accident (don't try and pause this download) in and it said 90 minutes remaining.
Now it is downloading is 300kbps and said 40 minutes remaining which is much more acceptable...
Mind you my line is capable of 35Mbps download or 4.5mb a second...

Is it me or can you simple not put the newsstand app into a folder.

It straight up refuse to let me make a folder or be put in one. It just tries to move things over.

every other one works fine.

I'm restoring from gm to public just to stay up with things, also noticing the file sizes are a bit different. My download went fine as normal about 20 minutes to download and is restoring now. I know the numbers are the same but why are the file sizes not?

How to upgrade from developer beta?

I've been using the developer beta of iOS5. Does anybody know how I can upgrade to the production version? When I click upgrade in iTunes it doesn't detect a newer version.

Newsstand is already a folder.

Um... why won't iOS 5 allow you to place the newsstand app in a folder? I don't want it at all seeing as I'm not subscribed to anything, but I'd at least like to place it out of sight in a folder. What's up with this? Anyone else notice this?

Mine won't update! It shows that there is an update but then says "Contacting the iPhone software update server..." and then after a minute says "The network connection could not be established"

The direct links arn't working either. It says "preparing to download" for a while and then says "A server with the specified hostname could not be found".

Any suggestions?

Newsstand is a folder, so it isn't you.

Same here- I just posted the same thing. Screw newsstand.

I get the same message with both restore and update. Dunno what else to do. I'm downloading the ipsw using the direct download links now. Maybe that'll make a difference?

Have you modified your hosts file before? If yes, you need to revert it back to its original values.

First iOS5 download attempt gave me 89 minutes.
iTunes gave "unsuccessful download" message
Second download attempt is now at 7 minutes :)

I just answered this above your post. Newsstand is a folder, you can't put it in one.
