Has anybody else's OS X update sped up considerably? Mine went from 3 hours remaining at 250 MB done, to 5 minutes and 550 MB done in a matter of 90 seconds.

Are the "Back-up to iCloud" features on the bottom of the Summary page I see (under "Back Up") from the new OS X update just released?
(using a PC)

Any way to download iOS 5 without a PC?
Not sure wife wants me dumping my phones' content on her laptop...
(wondering if I'll have to re-download everything trusting iCloud will have it)

Thank you!

I hope this is different from the GM.

The iOS5 GM has been the most buggiest GM I have ever loaded (and I think I have tried them all).

Nothing major but if I want to go into mail, music, or the app store, I prepare to get kicked out the first time, every time.

You have something broken. Havent had any issues you are talking about.

Does anyone know what will happen if I restart to upgrade to 10.7.2 in the middle of my ios5 download that is sitting at 2hours and is about 1/4 done? Will it just pick up where I left off?

Also, with 10.7.2 I can set up iCloud before ios5 is installed on my phone correct?

It's only a software update guys. Update it later on so my download can finish faster.

Run away as fast as you can....it's the ipocalypse!! Can't download anything....getting errors constantly and stalled downloads.....must.....get....ios5!!

Ugh, I decided to wait and download 10.7.2 and then update my iPad but the download still says 7 hours. I hope that goes down soon.

730mb of 774mb completed...3 minutes remaining

1hr to download less than a Gigabyte on a 100mbps Cable Connection. If we were to add in some dial-up noise I'd start to feel all nostalgic...

Blast ... been downloading for an hour and it came up with an error .... had to re-start the download and it's started from the beginning ....

FYI the direct download links posted here seem to go much faster mine took about 5-6 minutes using that method.

iTunes says my iPod (4G) isn't eligible for the update when I try to install it. This is my first major iOS upgrade I've done on a jailbroken device. Do you have to restore it to a non-jailbroken state before upgrading to iOS 5?

You need to use tinyumbrella to uncheck "set hosts to cydia" exit. and restart iTunes. it worked for me on my bad esn verizon iPhone.

Mine hung up on the "backing up _____'s iPhone" part. I'll try again a little later.

What type of device? My Verizon iPhone 4 has been absolutely rock solid with the GM. Also, apps should start getting more stable as they're upgraded to use the new ARC stuff in Xcode 4.2.

So far I'm really happy with this iOS upgrade. Its probably the biggest update its had.

That's your issue, not a widespread one, and I've not had that happen on any of the Betas, let alone the GM.
