Succesfully got iOS5 installed. Did occur a few warnings in the process, and all content of my ipad actually got wiped clean, but it definitely is worth it. Already love multitask gestures and tabs a lot!

Good luck guys!

Just checked the iOS 5 public release I'm restoring to: 774.4mb.

Just checked the iOS 5 GM I was previously running: 812mb.

So, something is obviously giving somewhere. Probably late optimisation.

Wrong wrong, wrong.

I'm on windows :

iPhone 4 GSM GM : 774*Mo (811*948*143 octets)
iPhone 4 GSM Final from today : 774*Mo (811*948*143 octets)

GM Md5 : 8ac7ae6a7f6fadbd34ba9abacd15e2dc
Final from today Md5: 8ac7ae6a7f6fadbd34ba9abacd15e2dc

PEOPLE IT'S THE SAME STOP ASKING AND STAY WITH THE GM.
Thanks

Just a theory, but considering the fact that Siri was stated to be "Beta", I believe that Siri will be available to at least the iPad 2 when it goes out of Beta....hopefully iPhone 4 even (though I doubt it).

Beta for LANGUAGES ...... Christ, must have been said a 1000 times now ;)

First of all you shouldn't expect to be able to update from a BETA release to the final release in the first place. The best thing is to just take a backup of your iPhone and restore it into the iOS 5.0 release version. Otherwise who knows what kind of issues you might drag along?

And secondly you'll need iTunes 10.5 release client, you can get it from itunes.apple.com. It wont work with any of the 10.5 BETA's and you should certainly not update to iTunes 10.5.1 BETA because that will run you stuck because it wont support iOS 5.0 release update at the same time you can't downgrade back to the iTunes 10.5 release version either.

Thats what I have done. I downloaded the ipsw for the iPad and it won't install it because it thinks the "firmware file is not compatible". This is with 10.5 installed, not the beta.

what is 3200 error, i have it too

Same here.. First I expected it to be iTunes 10.5.1 BETA not supporting the iOS 5.0 release build or something.

But my Windows machine running iTunes 10.5 get's the exact same error. So now I'm stuck with my iPhone 4 in DFU / recovery mode.

Got it installed for my iPhone 4 but I don't have the little camera icon that lets you access camera from the lock screen?

Not a huge change, but I find the messages in the Messages app looks..well, it's smoother and brighter. More of an aesthetic change than anything really.

Anyone else notice this?

This is just ridiculous. Got past Error 3200, now I got an error cause my device couldn't be restored. Now back to Error 3200...

Only the AppleTV version has a 'v'. The other files all say 9A334, which was the GM seed build released last week.

Can anyone help?

I get an error 3002...

Downloaded the final version (not GM), and using iTunes 10.5

Trying, and repeatedly getting this message

Keep trying. I had the same thing. Installed 10.7.2, rebooted, rebooted, phone, etc, and same error. Kept on trying and eventually it went through...

Seems like it has to contact Apple's servers during the restore and they are getting hammered right now, and that can time out (?).

Anyway, it is running for me now, and I just waited a bit and then tried it again until it went through...

if your missing my post due to so many replying, Put your device in airplane mode then hit the update button

Funny, but the exact opposite worked for me. I originally had it in airplane mode and got the error (3002 or 3200 can't remember). I restarted my computer and tried again NOT in airplane mode and it worked just fine. Frustrating when there is no consistency to the errors!

Someone Pleas Help!

Successfully downloaded iOS 5. My iTunes asks me to update but I get the following message. "The iPhone could not be restored. An internal error occurred." What the?!
