Anyone run into problems updating their devices?

Yep, tried to update my iPad and after a very slow download, and an equally slow backup, the installation failed. At least it still works fine with the old iOS.

A tad disappointed, but hopefully Apple will get the bugs ironed out soon.

I kept getting the 3200 error also.
I went into setting and on the Store app I signed out and now everything is fine.
TRY THAT.

Fixed error

I tried several times, my phone had wifi turned off. Then i tried airplane mode and still had errors. Turned off airplane mode when i realized my wifi radio had been off so i turned it on. Restored fine.

Tried multiple times on various devices - all failed - tried everything not he Apple resources page.

Come on MACRUMORS !!! Put a page up on the Front Page and get Apple on the case!!!

I have a quick question here, hopefully. I have seen a couple of posts about people updating their phones as "new". One person said they wanted to clear out the jailbreaking things. My questions are 1) do/should you do this 2) if it clears everything and makes it like "factory" do you just do a restore to get your items back on or sync. If you do update it as new won't you have to reorganize everything from scratch into folders.

error after extracting software :(

I am using Macbook after I updated itunes and Macbook to latest
software versions......

after downloading ios5 software I hit update it says extracting software
then I get a error. I have tried several times. It seems when it tries
to verify thats when I get the error..

I just got past the error now it seems to be updating 2 minutes to go..

Help lol

I'm getting the exact same problem

Just spoke with AppleCARE

They are aware of the restoring from backup not working correctly, and they are hard at work trying to get it fixed. They said to just keep trying it (with 30 minute breaks in between), and it will be fixed soon. Hopefully.

Once it finished updating it said my iPad has been restored to factory settings. Joy

Now it's restoring from a backup, currently doing my apps. More waiting.

Thanks! They should update the front page with this info so the forums simmer down.

Just seen this on Twitter

Just seen this on Twitter:

"Apple's TSS servers are currently returning 100. That means an internal server error has occurred. iOS 5 updates WILL NOW FAIL."

Don't know what it means but this is what is happening to my iPhone.

I went through the whole download process and then got the 3200 error like other people did. Putting my iPod Touch in airplane mode doesn't seem to be working either. Any advice?

Text Ringtones!

Just updated and loving it! Best improvement? The ability to FINALLY have custom text ringtones! Setting mine to the Inception bwah right now!

iPhone Internal Error Anyone??

If you've had the same error as me (Internal Error) I don't think it's anything to worry about. I had that appear for the last hour. Now for some reason, this time it's working! I restarted my computer for the 3rd time went straight on iTunes with no other programs open and it worked first time. iPhone off air plane mode and I updated my iTunes yesterday if that makes any difference. Just keep trying! (I tried airplane mode, re-starting iPhone etc.)

I think people get errors because servers at Apple are overloaded.

Most tricks mentioned on internet do not really work: it is just a coincidence if you get through.

Yeah, I get the internal error after the backup phase.

Error trying to update iPhone 4 or iPad 2.

Error 34 trying to restore iPhone 3GS after update. Had to manually fix all my sync settings for my phone, and erase the 100 apps it tried to install on my phone after the update.

I think this is the poorest software launch I've seen in my history with Apple..

Edit: Got iPad 2 to work in airplane mode. Remains to be seen if it will encounter the same failure to restore that my 3GS did.

Also getting the mysterious "internal error" message. Tried the suggestions on Apple's support doc to no avail. I'll just update later.
