Lol it must have been a coincidence then... Hope the servers will be back to normal status asap for all those iOS fanboys out there

Guys, all this Airplane mode stuff is just pure coincidence. The servers are being killed.

I've had the errors for about an hour - Airplane mode on/off. I gave myself 5 minutes before I was going to give up and go to the gym...

...3 tries later, and my iPhone is updating!

Keep trying! :)

(no gym tonight :D)

Now my iPad is stuck on the ''Verifying iPad restore with Apple...''

What should I do? is it safe to unplug?

Error 3200...

will eventually go away. Just keep trying to update, it is the servers and is timing out when it validates the packaging. I have tried airplane mode on/off, signing out of store and all the other recommendations and it has no bearing on the validation.

After about 15+ attempts, it is finally upgrading to 5.0!!! Patience, Patience, and more Patience!!!:)

Go into settings and sign out of the app store.

Put your phone in airplane mode.

Worked for me.

everyone seems to have a different response to internal error. I tried all the wifi, airplain mode, upgrading to 10.7.2, restarting, and finally signing out of store did it. I'm convinced that signing out had nothing to do with it. People are randomly getting through and just saying the last thing they did as the cure.

my ipad just finished, good luck

Little Snitch

I was having problems starting the install of iOS 5 on my iPad. The solution was to turn off Little Snitch network filter, which was somehow blocking the verification of the install with Apple....

UPDATE: My complete iOS 5 install was done successfully after turning off Little Snitch. They had released an update a couple of days ago which were supposed to edit the rules to allow iCloud connectivity, but I guess it was creating a problem with verification through iTunes. By the way, I did NOT have my iPad in Airplane Mode before doing this update. Maybe in the end, it's just a case of getting through to the Apple verification server and all of the troubleshooting solutions are just illusory correlations. ?? :)

I thought the download was bad enough - it has taken over an hour and a half to restore my apps and has now just started on the music and videos....

Guess I got lucky.

Little late to the game, but I updated iTunes on both my iMac and MBP, then did the Lion update. No issues, took about 10 minutes.

Docked my iPhone, iTunes said an update was available, did the download and install....took about 20 minutes to download, install and restore my phone. Just finished about 30 minutes ago.

I like the new updates so far....got everything signed into iCloud but haven't played with it....I can't seem to get the Newsstand icon to go into a folder though.....

Thanks for this info! I will try again and turn off Little Snitch.

3rd attempt-- it's gone through all the stages of backing up and extracting the software, then it says i was not able to update/backup....

Update: working now!!!

Finally working

I was getting the internal error message and did the following

Updated all software via software update
put phone in airplane mode
turned wifi off
signed out of app store on phone
closed all apps by using red minuses
reset phone by holding power and home buttons

plugged in and its actually working now, can't guarantee all these steps are necessary or will work for you but this did work for me, thanks for all the posts on here!

Ridiculous. I backed up my ipad before hand in preparation for this. Why does it need to backup again before it does the update? I waited forever for it to backup again and for the update to download only to get the error when it started to install. Now it's updating itunes and doing the lion update and it's taking forever.

How do I save the downloaded update file so I don't need to download it again when updating my iPad?

I have to wait until I get home..... I have a Iphone 3gs. After the install, whoever has iphone 3gs. How is it running?

:apple:

Oops! Apple Did it Again!

I try everything to make the update works...none of those things works. I'm right now on attempt #12.

No iPhone 5...hopefully I could make iOS5 work on my 3Gs before buying the new iPhone (Upgraded 4G)
