For gods sake this is ridiculous.
Every bloody time I get the verification error I have to back up my iPad AGAIN.
It takes 40 minutes to back up the damned thing and I'm on my 4th or 5th try in the last few hours. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!
Has anyone managed to update in the last 30 minutes?
Because I am slowly loosing the will to live over this...
First my BlackBerry decides it won't connect to the internet - for 3 days. Now one silly update (which i need for silly reasons) won't work either.
Why do my devices hate me???

They just want you to spell "lose" correctly. :)

We live in hope :).
I think that was just my frustration manifesting itself in my lack of spelling.

Hey, couldn't help myself. i know too many kids who think it actually is spelled "loose."

God knows my typing in comments usually makes me look like a complete illiterate.

my calendars are also not syncing....very disappointed with this roll out

I thought mine weren't, either, and then I noticed that you have to select the calendar from the list on the left. Then all my appointments appeared.

iCloud move isn't working for me -- server overload . . .

Lord what a day...first spend 24+ hours trying to downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard so that my laptop will run a Keynote presentation tomorrow (finally gave up)...only to find that today's Lion update seems to have fixed that bug. Now I'm on hour four for updating my iPad...gave up on the video/music reinstall so I could get 6 hours of sleep only to discover now it wants to spend an hour copying/syncing 12 apps...

...this upgrade better cure cancer and the common cold!

13 hours later as all I've got to show for my efforts is a bricked iPhone - the missus has a 3GS and not touching it until this debacle is sorted

Updated

Well, I was unfortunately busy with work all day so I finally got to upgrading my iPhone 4 and it went very smooth. The entire process took about an hour, maybe a little more due to all that restoring. No problems with errors, but then again, it is later in the day so maybe less traffic on the servers. Feels fast and notification center is great! Going to go explore stuff now. :)

It won't cure anything, but if you happen to know someone with the cold, you could send them a "get well" card using the official app for only $2.99!

hallelujah - finally sorted (touch wood) just syncing my apps, wirelessly ;)

.......dare I do my iPad now????

Seems like alot of angry faces here. I will join in with one aswell:mad:

Other than the tabbed safari ios5 seems like a big letdown!

Newsstand looked cool at first, but when i realized that all the magazines
cost money also that was a major upset. :(

Why would anybody pay for the newsstand magazine issues, when we can
read them for free on their websites though safari:confused:

Another couple of anoying things :
- There is a limit of 10 tabs in safari
- Still no youtube in safari
- No siri for ipad

Do event badges show on the calendar? If you've got some appointments coming up will there be a badge on the calendar icon?

It took me like 3 hours to get my iPhone and iPad updated and get all apps and music synced... iCloud still doesn't work properly as my contacts won't sync and neither device backs up to iCloud.

Has anyone tried the upgrade on a 3GS and what do you think of the results

is it worth the effort

Definitely worth it, it's literally breathed life back into my 3GS. The phone feels so much faster on iOS 5 than it was on iOS 4. Go for it.

probabily fast because its got a fresh os on rather than because ios 5 is faster

Was so looking forward to this and I must say I'm not disappointed.

I went home opened up my MBP downloaded and installed 10.7.2. Took about 1.5 two 2 hours to do everything, download, install, set up etc.

I then did my iPad2 which was basically the same if not shorter. Everything went smoothly without a hitch.

I'm going to do my iPod touch later today and then my hubby's iPad

Not sure though if I understand iCloud. Since the account is mines and I used that one account for all four Apple Products I'm wondering if my hubby will be able to use iCloud. Also since iMessage uses my account how will my hubby be able to use his?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Foxy,

I set up an Apple ID for my wife so that you can use FaceTime. I am sure that she will be able to use that to set up iCloud account. You may want to try that for your husband as well.
