Hmm, after installing 6.1.3 I noticed an update of the Asphalt racing game, which is a little more than 1 GB in total size. I had 2,5 GB free memory but the App-store rejected the update "due to lack of free memory" and I was asked to "clean up". So I deleted Asphalt and then I was able to download. Yes, maybe the is a issue there.

That has nothing to do with Asphalt. You need min. 2.8 GB free for updating Asphalt. That's normal and okay.

http://support.gameloft.com/OnlineAndSocial/showSelection/125/

Last question on the page:

Q: I can not install the game. It says there is insufficient space (1.1 Gb is needed), even though the iOS settings page reports more than 1.1 Gb available.

A: This is correct. 1.1 Gb is the packed size. In the unpacked state the game takes 1.7 Gb. But for the installation process the device requires 2.8 Gb (both 1.1 and 1.7 together). Then, after the installation is completed, the 1.1 Gb archive is deleted.

I updated Asphalt 7 on iPhone 4 + 5, iPad 3 + 4 (iOS 6.3.1) without problems btw.

Please spare us all and go get an android phone so we don't have to read negative stuff all the time.

I just read the whole thread.

What an astounding amount of whining, crabbing and complaining.

Just incredible...

If you've got a problem with Apple's ecosystem then move. Instead of just moaning about it?

Yeah we wouldnt want people here to have ANY type of negative feelings about Apple.
I dont see anyone whining. I see people saying that for what the update brings its not worth losing the JB for. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

Same problem for me since updating. I'm on an iPhone 5, cannot update apps or download new ones.

its really weird. i think it could be kind of a network problem. since my ipad mini is wifi only, i've tried to connect it with iphone 5 hotspot over 3G network, and I could update and download apps without a problem. going back on home wifi, still the same problem. I did reset network settings on iPad, reset modem, still same problem. also when I go in 'iTunes & App store' settings - View Apple ID, it wan't show up (over hotspot connection does!).
Manually changing IP and DNS settings on iPad, doesn't change anything.
hmm....hope there is solution before I call apple support

I'm trying to figure out why any map updates would require new code on the iPhone... Japan, US, wherever. I'd tend to think (and I'm probably wrong!) that way north of 99% of the content would be server-side.

In Japan, maps are drawn differently traditionally. Different colours for highways and motorways and so on.

Now I can finally update my super secret special iPhone so no one can access it through the passcode bug! My life is now complete. Thank the Gods!

Ahh finally the fix to remove choice from my device and lock me securely back into apples airtight eco system that i have been waiting for ...

Think ill stick with the build i have + Cydia until apple add a feature to the updates instead of just releasing updates that close jailbreaks.

Apple seems to have gone from innovating, to evolving, to stagnating, to normal corporate bullcrap in record time since SJ passed.

Probably just a patch to fix the iOS jailbreak issue, nothing more.

My iPad demands me to be on wifi to update, most annoying thing ever, i have unlimited data on my wifi+3G iPad mini but i cant bloody use it unless i jailbreak...then i cant update because it will break the jailbreak.

Apple needs to lift that app size/update download limit, its really a stoneage limit now, given that my iPad minis speed test on 3G is 16mb/s down and 9mb/s up so its broadband speeds

Agree not being able to use data and needing wifi is crap. Saves data yes but should have the choice

Fine, but you realize that every jailbreak is something that Apple has to fix, because, in one case, all you had to do was go to a website, after which you could get in a lot of trouble?

Yes, but, this case is different. Somebody actually has to have access to my device physically and they have to know the sequence to get through the loophole.

That's for one of the bugs that was fixed. There were others, including one that was being used by the jailbreak. Technically they are security issues and can be exploited once known, so it makes sense for Apple to fix them.

It makes sense to patch every exploit. Here is a list of all the fixes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5704 I never argued that Apple shouldn't patch them. I just said that I am happy with my 6.1.2 jailbroken device.

There are networks that do not have GSM connection anymore.

So for you to get text messages and phone calls they need to have 3G band active. Wifi on the other hand, no.

True, but I guess what I am questioning is why not do it the other way around; Wifi is much better for battery life.

Even more annoying was when i got home and back on wifi it was under 20mb for the update "over the air"

WTF apple, you allow 50MB itunes app installs, streaming video, but not a 20mb update .....

Just like everyone else...no thanks!

iOS 6 in and of itself was a big bummer considering backgrounder has been abandoned. Would pay someone something to use the same source code and make it work for 6.1.2.

I won't be updating because I need all of my tweaks and apps:
I also DON'T need the "stocks" "passbook" "game center" "weather" "calculator" apps on my phone. I don't need 3 of those and I have WAY BETTER apps from the app store that replace the other 2. I also like to hide apps on my home screen and instead put them in sbsettings dock like mail and facebook.

Tweaks and jailbreak apps I can't live without:
1. accelerate-speeds up the UI of all animations, making it super faster.
2. activator-enabling custom gestures to control all aspects of the phone
3. applocker-adds a password in order to open any app of your choosing
4. autoLSmusiccontrols-automatically shows music controls on the lockscreen when playing any music.
5. bitesms-send sms on your lockscreen, you basically don't ever need to open the sms application on your phone. Tap the volume up button, tap on the volume HUD, an sms box will pop up and you can send/receive texts while in other apps without needing to exit the current app you're on.
6. bulletin-notification center on the lockscreen
7. calendar pro for notification center-adds a full calender to notification center. You can open the mail app from it as well.
8. caller id faker-well duh...
9. confirmsms-adds a popup asking if you want to send or not. It's good for people who accidentally tap "send" when you're trying to tap the p or whatever. And makes you think for a second if you've send a mean text or something.
10. corner-volume-You can move the vlume HUD to any location of the screen. I have mine in the top left corner. Makes it so it's less intrusive.
11. dimmer-Control the brightness FURTHER to make it almost black or completely black. This is for using your phone in the dark when the stock lowest brightness is STILL not low enough. You can make the brightness lower than the stock settings allow for.
12. dimissmykeyboard-Just swipe down on the keyboard to make it go away. Just like how an iPad does it.
13. fast copy-Gets rid of the delay from the moment you tap a word to the time to get the "copy, paste, whatever" box to appear. Makes it faster.
14. f.lux-In the dark, you can turn it on. Gets rid of the blue bright white tint that prevents melatonin production in the night. Makes the screen a more sepia tone, good for the eyes. You can turn it off am on whenever you want.
15. quick clear-on notification center, automatically shows the "x" buttons and "clear" buttons. You don't have to tap on it a million times just to get rid of the notifications.
16. iFile-Just like finder on a mac. Shows all the root system file folders on your iPhone and you can edit/delete them from there.
17. infinifolders-Add as many apps as you want to any folder instead of just 8 or 12 or whatever the hell that small number is.
18. ipsum-Get rid of notifications on the lock screen by sliding the slider to the right and then the left.
19. iSHSH it-Saves your SHSH blobs to cydia.
20. kuaidial-block numbers from calling you. You can add to the blacklist or make a whitelist
21. munualcorrect pro-Apple's spellchecker SUCKS!!! This is way better and not intrusive.
22. maplocker-Saves maps tile cache so each time you open maps it doesn't need to load all the tiles again.
23. NCquickdismiss-adds an "x" to the right of all banner notifications that show on the top of the screen so you can quickly get rid of them instead of them just floating up there for like a million years.
24. nospot-Gets rid of the intrusive spotlight page completely.
25. popup blocker-Get rid of popups just google it.
26. remove background-Quickly wipe out all apps in the task switcher by an activator method. This is used in conjunction with activator tweak.
27. SBsettings including my toggles for airplane mode, autolock, invertcolors, rotation inhibitor, and user agent faker-Access settings straight from anywhere on your iphone instead of having to exit your current app, opening up settings, pressing a million buttons just to turn on/off certain things on your phone such as data, wifi, etc etc. You can also clear the RAM of the device, making it faster, and shows all processes running and gives the option of closing those processes to make your phone faster.
28. sms blocker-Block numbers from texting you.
29. sms timestamps-Puts the date and time on EVERY text sent and received.
30. snoozeorstop-Adds "stop" to all alarms. Convenient for people who are NOT morning people and hate mornings.
31. sprintboard-You can go to certain pages on the home screen way faster. You don't need to swipe to any page and have it take a million years just to get to the page you want to go to.
32. swipeselection-Go back to edit typing super faster than holding your finger on the word, having the magnifying glass come up, screw with it to get it to the location you wanted, THEN edit it...easily go back to text super faster.
33. UDIDfaker-Fakes the UDID of your phone for apps of your choosing. Like if you want to make a new account on apps or something.
34. unpower-Makes a sound when the charger is pulled out from your phone. Slightly different sound than the sound that occurs when you plug the charger into your phone.
35. vibraficationsfree-Adds 2 vibrations for texts, and 3 vibrations for all other notifications.
36. volumecustomize-You can make the volume HUD a different color, more opaque, more see through, making it almost invisible so that it's less intrusive.
37. 20 second lockscreen-well duh...makes your lockscreen stay on for 20 seconds or more, whatever you choose, instead of the stock 10 seconds which is not enough time at all.

So for all you non-jailbreakers out there, what do you think of this??

The only really good thing about 6.0 that I like is the turn by turn maps (I mean, it makes it easier to use the maps apps while you're DRIVING..and I don't condone using a phone while DRIVING but come on we all use the maps app while DRIVING) I like it better than the tiny "next" button in all previous versions of maps. And since I'm on tmobile on a factory unlocked iphone, I now have access to 3g. Yay for tmobile redoing their 3g.

Useless Garbage who the heck cares anyhow 99% of the people would never use this trash anyhow - That is what i have a computer for a phone as a computer is a complete waist of my time and probably 90% of the rest of us. So many people are such cry babies. If you are so good go to apple and file out a job app if think you can do better they will just laugh at u.

eh, wish they had fixed the passcode bug without killing evasi0n. i don't like knowing my phone has a security flaw.

no more f.lux? my poor eyes.
no more unlimited pandora skipping? my poor ears.
no more zephyr? my poor home button.
no more gridlock, torch, barrel, zeppelin, and auxo? my poor ui.

some are more important than others. the single most important to me is f.lux; once i started using it i couldn't live without it, and considering its ties to my physical health, it is, for me, the reason to keep evasi0n and not upgrade.

I agree. An 18mb download should be allowed to download via cellular network, it's ridiculous that they allow apps to but not software updates.

But the way they "killed" the jailbreak was actually by addressing a security flaw (or possibly more than one) that the jailbreak was exploiting, making the phone that much more secure.

Maybe they should just start making a product without any flaws to begin with. I think the issue is not the JB itself, as we all I think will agree that you should get rid of your exploits and make the phone safer, but allow people to customize their phones. Give the people the choice

Seriously, I have noticed better battery since this update. I usually get about 5.5 hrs of battery in a day. I'm at 70% and usage time is 2 hrs 10 mins at this rate doing the same pattern I should get about 7.5 or 8 hrs.
