I'd like to voice out that he's not the only one experiencing the battery life issue.

Apple is all about creating a wonderful user experience. I fail to understand how apple fails to see that a full charge only lasting 6-7 hours drastically impedes on having that wonderful user experience.

Users are more concerned about having a charging cable and being close to a power source rather than enjoying the phone.

How many times have you put your phone down or away to conserve power? It becomes blatantly obvious when you're travelling and you need your phone for maps or whatever.

Apple get your act together. Users need the phone to last 24hrs without a charge. Not a fraction if that.
the battery issue seems to be widespread. Over here in Hong Kong several of my co-workers that use the iPhone 5 complained about the battery life of the iPhone 5 to be significantly lower than that of the 4S. I myself have the same experience too. It's about 20-30% lower than the 4S. I guess there's something to do with the LTE radio.

My 'source' is the one of the Market Directors for the Apple Store overseeing over 10 states for the past 6 years (Regional Director for 2 years before that and Market Leader for over 6 years before that) so what would he know.

The higher the position your friend holds in Apple the less he will tell you. I don't think Tim Cook will tell you anything if you know him.

Said as if the iphone isn't the most popular smart phone ever sold.

Said as if everywhere you look someone isn't pulling out an iPhone to play Angry Birds.

Said as if you are constantly bombarded with "tritone" ringtones for people getting messages.

I could go on, but you get the point. You statement is one of the dumbest so far on this site.

You obviously don't understand sarcasm.

having a long battery life is part of the user's experience.

Lasts 7h with around 26/27h of standby so maybe restore your phone and if that doesn't work return it?

There are plenty of people within Apple that will talk. They do choose to do so to people they know aren't going to go running to every rumor site and talk about their business. After years of going to Apple's campus monthly and working with them, you get to know plenty of people who aren't as tight lipped as news sites would have you believe.

OMG yesssss... Now I notice the new features with this new update. I asked Siri for a black coffee and voila... There it was!!!. Thanks Apple

I fell huge battery drain when using 3G connection, battery dies in my eyes, without cellular battery for me is amazing

I read about this update, only seeing the headline, so I immediately rushed to see if it was available for my devices and was worried that they had finally dropped the iPad 2 and for some reason forsaken the 4S.

Then I went back and checked the story and slapped myself.

Hi all

Firstly, here in Australia this update was NOT OTA, it stated clearly the update can only be downloaded via Wi Fi, despite its 11.5MB size. I did notice the install did take quite a while for such a small updated which seemed on, almost as long as doing a software upgrade.

Same thing happened to me. I usually ring my parents, they decline the call, and then we Skype...
Anyway, I tend to call, put the phone down, turn loudspeaker on, and when they decline there was 1-2 seconds of weird noises, usually a type of echo, which is now gone!!

Rarely use the phone's speakers to hear music, but after seeing your post decided to try it... And no, there is only sound from the speaker grill on the right side?! Is this normal?

OTA means over the air, aka not being connected via USB and updating through iTunes. So yes, downloading over wifi is OTA. Please refer to other posts pertaining to this in this thread.

Just downloaded this and updated through the phone. I have a question to ask: the wheels while updating, were they always moving while the software update was going on? This is the first time I notice "moving icons" in iOS.

Shouldn't they be working on significant things like say...IOS7?

So because they issue a small update, they cannot possibly be doing ANYTHING else at the same time?

Some people here are just ridiculous.

Those have been there since the beginning of iOS 6.

Hey guys, excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain to me what an audio profile is exactly?
